Chapter Seven- Brandon POV

I watched her a little more. She appeared to be lost in thought, muttering to herself as she sat on the porch swing. She had a frown on her pretty face. It made me want to go over and wipe all her worries away.I’m embarrassed because I have no idea who she is. She is from my pack, but more importantly she is my mate. I know I have been gone for about two years, but I should have made more of an effort.          Those two years were not in vain, however, and I had learned a great deal. The Alpha I studied under was an amazing leader, a true mentor. I even considered him a friend. He is the leader of the biggest pack in the world, in Scotland. The legendary Alpha McMullen had over 2,000 members and knew all of his members and their stories. Alpha McMullen, or simply McMullen as we all called him, was unbelievably strong and brave. He was the type of man who was respected by his friends and enemies alike. His Luna was equally as idyllic; she was beautiful, well-spoken, ran the daycare, cared for all members of the pack, and commanded respect everywhere she went. They were an inspiration for me. I want to be a leader like him.      I was deep in thought and I didn’t realize that my mate was staring at me. Our eyes met and we both whispered “Mate” at the same time. I began to walk to her, forgetting that I was still in my wolf form. She darted back into her house. I kept walking up to her house, hoping that she would come back out and talk to me. Instead, an older man walked out of her house towards me. He threw basketball shorts at me and told me to shift. I recognized him, he is the head warrior, Darrell.     I shifted, confused on what was going on.      “Thanks” I said, slipping the shorts on.     He glared at me. His face remained unchanged and I began to feel a little awkward.     “For the shorts” I said.     “Just come with me. We need to talk before you can meet with her.” Darrell said, walking towards the dense forest behind his house.     We walked in silence for a few minutes, Adonis was growling in my head. He wanted to go back to their house and demand our mate talks to us, but I kept explaining to him that it was a bad idea. We needed to hear what Darrell had to say. We didn’t need to give our mate a reason to reject us.      Finally, Darrell stopped walking. He remained silent. Then I understood, he was listening to our surroundings to make sure no one was around that could hear us. What was going on?      “Take me back to my mate I want to see her. Why did you bring me out here. Do you not know who I am?” I asked, annoyed by the desperation in my own voice.     “I know full well who you are, young Alpha. We need to talk first before you can see her. I have a lot to tell you, but you must first promise me to not tell a single soul of what I am going to tell you. You also cannot reject her.” He said.I sensed that he wasn’t trying to be disrespectful, but I could tell he was deeply concerned.     “Tell me what is going on!” I yelled, using my Alpha tone.     “P-P-Promise first!” He stuttered out, he was struggling against my Alpha, but was still disobeying me. I wasn’t sure whether I should be impressed or annoyed about that. Nonetheless this must be important for him to be willing to struggle like that.     “Fine I promise.” I said calmly. Adonis growling angrily in my head. He is starting to give me a headache. I told him we needed to do this.     “Thank you Alpha.” He said bowing his head, showing he was submissive, but this was important.     He took a few minutes to compose himself, then he began to talk.     "Alpha Brandon, I am Darrell, I was the head warrior of this pack, until recently.”     “Yes, I remember you. Wait, you're not the head warrior anymore?” I asked, this explained a lot about the laxed security around here lately.     He nodded his head, “I will explain that later, let's talk about my daughter, Rose first.” He said her name, it was a beautiful name. It sounded familiar.     This saddened me, “Why did she run from me?”     “Alpha she is going through a lot all at once. So she isn’t sure who she can trust, she is feeling very alone right now and I am hoping you will be able to help her. You need to know everything, but cannot tell a single soul about it.” He said, I just nodded. Wondering if she is in some kind of trouble.     “My daughter had her shift early, her eighteen birthday is still a day away but she shifted almost a week and a half ago.” I said smiling, he must be remembering her first shift.     I’m disappointed that I wasn’t here for her first shift. I could have help eased some of the pain for her.      “My mate was a witch before she was turned into a wolf, Alpha.” He said quickly and stopped talking. Waiting for my reaction, but I just nodded waiting for him to continue to talk.     He continued to talk about his mate's sister, how his mate was turned. He then told me about how this evil woman has tried k********g my mate when she was just a baby. I couldn’t help but growl.     “As you see Alpha, she has magic as well. Her early shift came with a lot of surprises for us. Her magic can no longer be suppressed or hidden. She is half witch and half wolf.” He said. He watched me closely, waiting for my reaction.      I’m shocked but I won’t reject her for this. Adonis is trying to connect with my mate’s wolf to give them some reassurance. It sounds like they need it. Plus this will keep Adonis from driving me crazy anymore.      “I won’t ever reject my mate, Darrell. I want to love her and be with her but she needs to be willing to be with me.” I stated plainly, because just because I want her doesn’t mean she will want me.      “Wait Alpha there is more. You see my mate is a descendant of the Moon Goddess herself. That is why when my mate was dying the Moon Goddess changed her to a werewolf and gave her to me. My daughter is a pure white wolf, almost your wolf’s size. She is beautiful. We haven’t let her shift again because we don’t want anymore to see her until she is fully trained. It will not only put her in danger once others know, but it will put the pack in danger.”     “I understand, but for her wolf’s sanity and to be able to train she needs to be able to be out.” I said mainly to myself, but Darrell nodded to me.      “Wait, I know where she can train. It is very secluded, in fact most people do not even know it exists. I can take you there but it's about a 20 minute run for a wolf. About 2 hours for a human. It is up the mountain.” I said and her dad became very happy.      “Thank you Alpha. I really appreciate this.” He said and I smiled. Hopefully now my mate will talk to me.     “Can I talk to her now?” I asked.     His eyes glossed over, I knew he was mindlinking someone. Then he nodded and said for me to follow him.
