#musicvibe - Dead man’s eyes, Apocalyptica * Alex POV I froze and my eyes darted around the room when I realized that the gun was floating by itself. All the windows were covered, leaving the whole apartment in a very dim light. It probably meant that Valeria was somewhere in here, but wanted to stay hidden. ”Valeria?” I called out. ”It’s Alex. I’m not here to hurt you.” A small shadow appeared at the end of the hallway. ”Then why are you here?” Valeria’s voice asked. ”We’re worried about you.” I replied. ”You were still in pretty bad shape when you left, and I just want you to know that you don’t have to be afraid. The witch is dead. The spell is broken.” I forced myself to stay rooted to the spot when I heard a small sob. ”I don’t believe you.” Valeria whispered. ”That’s okay.” I said softly. ”You’ve been through a lot these past few days. But I can promise you, the witch is dead and Tyson is back to normal. He wants to see you.” The shadow took a few steps closer, but it was still too dark for me to see her properly. I could tell that she was wearing a long sleeved shirt, a maxi skirt and a scarf over her head so that I couldn’t see her face. ”The witch is really dead?” Valeria whispered. I nodded. ”Violet did it.” I said and smiled proudly. ”She stabbed that vile creature like twenty times. In the nick of time too, I don’t think I would have been able to hold Tyson any longer.” I held out my hand and my heart clenched when I saw Valeria flinch. ”He’s back.” I said. ”If you don’t believe me, come and see for yourself.” The door swung open behind me and the gun floated across the hallway and landed in Valeria’s bandaged hand. ”He can meet me at the mall by the A16.” Valeria said curtly. ”Tomorrow, nine AM, east parking lot.” I nodded. ”Do you need anything before then?” I asked. ”No.” She replied. ”Please, just go.” ”Take care.” I whispered before backing out the door. I heard the door shut behind me, and I walked back down the stairs and out to the car. Tyson immediately stepped out of the car and the others quickly followed. ”Anything?” He asked. I nodded. ”She’s in there.” I replied. Tyson looked up at the building and back at me. ”How is she?” He asked. ”It’s as we suspected.” I said. ”She has a hard time believing that the witch is dead. I told her that she could come and see for herself that you’re back to normal. She told me that you can meet her in the parking lot of a mall by the A16 tomorrow at nine AM.” ”Tomorrow is the full moon.” Tyson sighed. ”I would have loved to take her home tonight.” Garrett put his hand on Tyson’s shoulder. ”Let her come to you, mate.” He said. ”There’s still time for that in the morning. We just have to make sure that we don’t spook her.” Tyson nodded and we started getting into the car, but stopped when Tyson didn’t follow. ”Ty?” Kayden called out, but Tyson shook his head. ”She shouldn’t be alone.” He said. ”I’m staying here.” ”She wants to be alone right now.” I protested. ”You can’t just sit out here the whole night.” ”I’m not leaving.” Tyson growled in warning, and I saw Kayden and Garrett shudder when his aura slipped out. ”Alright.” I sighed and sat down on a bench. ”But you’re not staying here alone.” Tyson sat down next to me while Kayden shook his head in disbelief. ”Are we really doing this?” He muttered. ”You should go.” I replied. ”Valeria is going to need all the help she can get. Get some rest and come back tomorrow. Maybe you can find me some blood while you’re at it.” ”Unfortunately I don’t really know any blood banks here in Calais.” Mr Sampson frowned. “At least not anyone that could give us blood without a medical reason.” Garrett rolled his eyes, rolled up his sleeve and strolled up to me with his arm outstretched. “Maybe this can keep you going.” He suggested. “If I remember correctly, lycan blood is more potent.” I nodded. “Are you sure?” I asked. Garrett shrugged. “You need it, don’t you?” He huffed. “I’ll find something to eat to make up for the blood loss. I’ll be fine.” “Thanks.” I grinned, took his wrist and sank my fangs into his skin. Kayden, Tyson and Mr Sampson discreetly tried to shield the view of my feeding. I took enough from him to make sure that I could last the night and a better part of the morning. “Thank you.” I said when I pulled away. “No worries mate.” Garrett shrugged. “Good luck tonight.” “Thanks.” I replied and Tyson and I watched in silence as they drove off. “You don’t have to stay here.” Tyson said. “I can’t ask you to stay out here in the cold.” “I’m a vampire.” I shrugged. “We don’t get cold. Besides, you’re sitting out here feeling like sh*t while your mate is so close, yet so far. You don’t have to be alone out here, at least.” Tyson let out a laugh. “Thanks.” He said softly. “I owe you.” I shook my head. “I’m mated to your sister.” I chuckled. “You helped me a lot after I got my wolf and you saved my kingdom. So how about we skip the ‘I owe you’s and just be friends?” Tyson smiled. “Yeah, we can do that.” He whispered. “Great.” I grinned. “Now, let’s watch your mate.” * Sister Athena POV I felt it coming before the images started playing in my mind. The familiar burning in my eyes as the gods cursed me with another vision. Once I realized what it was about, I desperately tried to remember every detail I could see before it faded. When I felt myself coming back to reality, I called for Mother Penelope, the leader of our coven. Within seconds, I could sense her aura nearby. “Have you had another one?” She asked. “Yes. “ I replied and got up. “We need to go to the Caniluna Castle. The attack isn’t over.”
