#musicvibe - When it’s all over, RAIGN * Garrett growled when he saw Tyson and Celeste walk in. “Quiet.” Tyson snapped, making Garrett choke under the command until he stopped growling. “Leave.” He said to the guards, who stood up and left the dungeon without saying a word. Celeste was beaming. She opened my cell door with a big smile on her face and crouched down beside me. “What are you so happy about?” I muttered. “I have every reason to be happy.” Celeste chirped. “I won.” “I already knew that.” I replied. “But there’s something else.” I half expected her to say that they caught Evy, and I glanced towards the door to see if they brought her in. Without Willow’s heightened senses, I couldn't smell her. “If you’re thinking about the Gamma female, she’s not here.” Celeste replied. “She slipped through our fingers, but it actually turned out pretty good. As we speak, the vampires are preparing for war, making it seem like they attack us first. It plays right into our hands, and now I can make sure that both kingdoms crumble to the ground.” I glanced at Garrett, and even if he looked worried, there seemed to be a small spark of relief in his eyes at the news that his mate was alright. When I looked into the blank face of my own mate, I desperately wished that I could say the same thing. “So what, you won?” I scoffed. “You knew that yesterday too.” “But today, it ends for you.” Celeste shrugged. “You and your Gamma are going to be executed for treason. But don’t worry, Tyson will be perfectly safe. Actually, he is about to have something he’s wanted for a while now.” I frowned in confusion when Celeste stood up and smirked. “A baby of his own.” She grinned. My blood ran cold. “That’s impossible.” I yelled. “You’ve been here for like three days.” “I’m a witch, sweetie.” Celeste chuckled. “We can sense the conception of a child because it affects our aura. And I felt it last night. Tyson is having an heir.” Tyson came up behind Celeste and put a hand on her flat stomach. “Something you couldn’t give him.” She sneered. I couldn’t even cry from the pain that exploded through my body as my already shattered heart was basically pulverized. I stared at them, unable to speak. From the corner of my eye, I saw Garrett’s face contorting from rage as he thrashed against the chains. “You are the foulest, most evil b*tch I’ve ever met!” He screamed. “Don’t think for a second that you’ll get away with this!” Celeste chuckled. “You both will be dead in five hours.” She replied. “I’ve already gotten away with it.” She took Tyson’s hand and they both left the dungeon. When the door closed, the silence was deafening. Time stood still while we just tried to process what just happened. “I don’t know what to say, Valeria.” Garrett whispered, and I saw his eyes fill with tears. “I’m so sorry. I can’t even begin to imagine the pain you must be feeling right now.” I didn’t reply. I curled up in the corner, my mind drifting off to a fateful morning in a factory in Sheffield. I could still imagine the sound of the gun, the thudding sound of my dead brothers and sisters falling to the floor. I almost flinched as the sound became so real to me. That time, I focused on my Rubick’s cube. It kept me calm. What I would give for a Rubick’s cube right now. Here I was, again, in a cell waiting for death. How many times could that happen to one person during the course of a lifetime? I didn’t think that could happen more than once. But usually people never survive their first time either. Time stood still while I thought about the people I lost. My parents, my sister Alexandra, my daughter. For the first time, a ghost of a smile appeared on my face. Maybe I could see Willow too? I tried not to think about Tyson. But the love in his eyes when he saw me shift for the first time still came into my mind. How we danced in the garden and sat on the roof of Big Ben on our first date. The memories flowed freely through my mind, making me smile for real. We had a wonderful time together. I hated that it was coming to an end so fast. I glanced at Garrett, who looked to be deep in thought as well. “You’ve been a great Gamma.” I whispered. “Even though I was different, and I caused a lot of problems for you in the beginning, you never judged me. You have been a great friend, and I’m happy that my cousin got you as her mate.” Garrett looked up and shook his head. “That’s just common sense.” He muttered. “If I was a great Gamma, I would have prevented this from happening.” “You got Evy out.” I replied. “That’s all that matters now.” “I kinda feel bad for Kayden though.” Garrett mumbled. “Once we’re gone, he’s going to be all alone in this mess.” I nodded. “I guess we suck at saving people.” I muttered. Garrett chuckled. “I guess they should put that on our tombstones.” He replied. I scoffed and rolled my eyes. “Too soon?” Garrett asked. “Yeah.” I muttered. “But there isn’t going to be a better time either.” We both stiffened when we heard the dungeon door open, and I saw fear shining in Garrett’s eyes. The guards that were standing inside the dungeon flinched at the sound, and looked at me with fear and pity. Four guards walked in with Warren in the lead, who let out a shaky breath. “It’s time.” He whispered. He took a pair of handcuffs from one of the guards and opened my cell door. He crouched down next to me, tears lining his eyes. “I’ve always been proud of being a warrior, serving my pack.” He whispered. “And I love it. But for the first time in my life, I hate being a warrior.” He took my hand, and I felt it trembling. “I trusted my Alpha, and now we’re all prisoners.” He whimpered. “Please Luna, forgive me for what we’re about to do.” “It’s not your fault.” I replied. “There’s nothing to forgive.” I held out my hands and he put the handcuffs on before undoing the shackles chaining me to the wall. Another guard came inside and they gently helped me to my feet. My vision tunneled immediately and I held onto Warren to steady myself. I took deep breaths to gather my bearings. I didn’t want to go out looking weak, so I raised my head and locked eyes with Garrett, who was helped out of the cell by the other guards. This was it for us. Nowhere to run
