Chapter 8

Summer’s pov My heart skipped a bit, I froze turning to see who it was, Trey peeked his head through the small space, smirking his lips before opening the door wider and walking in. The stranger had somehow hidden himself under the bed and I could tell he was definitely seeing a lot of mess I had tucked underneath my bed. I nervously stared at Trey. “What are you doing here?” I asked, the words sounding sharper than I intended, my lips pulled into a frown. “Dont you know of a thing called privacy?” I frowned, folding my hands on my chest while staring at him and hoping he could read the disdain in my eyes and leave. Trey’s smirk didn’t falter, I blinked. “Why are you still here?” “What’s the rush? Our parents are married now , this is literally my house.” “Not your room.” I rolled my eyes at his audacity, why did life have to make me pass through this? Why did I agree to whatever he suggested that night? f*****g i***t. “Girls will be dying to have me talk to them and you have it in a platter of gold, you should take this chance pretty well.” He rose from where he stood and walked towards me. “Well I don’t want to.” I huffed. “I wasn’t thinking when I agreed to that and now I want nothing to do with you, how hard is it for you to understand?” “Well pumpkin, things go however I want, you have no choice.” His breath grazed my face. “You’re crazy! We are siblings now and I don’t want-“ He placed a finger on my lips. “You talk too much, makes me want to feel the inner walls of your mouth again.” His eyes burned with desire.I took a step back but I hit my back against the wall, realizing I had been cornered. He gently grazed my chin and let out a light chuckle. “I like good girls and you’re one.” I tightened my fist, thinking of countless ways to get him out of my room. “We will meet at school tomorrow.” I replied quickly with a firm tone. He didn’t budge. “I’m not leaving, pumpkin.” He said, his eyes narrowing slightly. “Unless…” he trailed off. I arched my brows, frowning. “unless what?” “Unless you kiss me.” His smirk traced in his lips once more, it was slow and intentional. “And if I don’t?” I stared blankly at him. He leaned his face closer to mine, his voice low as a whisper. “The whole school will know how you kissed your brother.” The words hit me like I had just shoved hot coal down my throat. I forced out a laugh. “You think I will be the only one affected? It will ruin your reputation as well.” I threatened, flicking his nose and pushing his chest, this time he budged. He c****d his head, unfazed. “I don’t think it will work that way, it’s all on you.” I stared at him, trying to make sense of the situation but my mind flashed back to the stranger under my bed, he was definitely uncomfortable and the thought of him listening in my conversation with Trey made me feel even more bothered. I hate that he knew how to trap me. After what felt like eternity he leaned closer with his hands over the other. “Fine.” I sighed. His smirk widened knowing he had won, I leaned and gave him a quick peck on the lips and pulled away almost immediately, I could feel the heat rising in my cheek. He seemed satisfied and finally stepped towards the door. “See you tomorrow darling.” His tone was confidence that made my skin crawl. Once the door clicked shut I let out a sigh of relief, letting my shoulders sag. Turning to the bed, I could hear him scuffle out, his eyes staring into mine with anger burning in them, he tried to hide it but I could still feel it. For some reason I could feel my cheeks burn, pinching myself lightly, I told myself it was from guilt. In the corner he stood there quietly while looking at me like he was reading my thoughts. Pointing towards the window, I said. “You should leave.” I’ve already had enough, I needed to end this night on a good note even though it seemed to be crazy already. “No.” He said. “What?” I turned to look at him blinking. “I’m not leaving,” he replied. I arched my brows staring at him curiously as he walked towards me, I gulped silently, backing myself against the wall. “Why is that?” He stopped once he was a few inches away from me. His hand curled firmly around my arm, I caught sight of his arm tattoo underneath his sleeves as he pulled me closer to himself. “I can't leave just yet.” his breath whisked over my face. “Those guys are still after me.” I didn't hide my frustration, the last thing i wanted was a total stranger seeking refuge in my room, who knew what dangers he could bring. After a while I let out a slow breath, clearly uncomfortable by how close he was. “Fine, you can stay.” He didn't react, just locked gazes with me, the air in the room becoming awkward. He leaned closer, his voice low as a whisper. “I really thought you were innocent.” What is he talking about?
