After the conversation with the woman over the phone Parker visited his sister later after being allowed to use the hospital facilities and being given dry clothes and shoes, a hood with track pants and plain shoes, he was allowed to visit his sister, that same night his face was on the news as the first ever hundred and first contestant in the eclipse games, which was a very big deal,he didn't k ow just yet what the real reason for him being accepted as an enigma was, but a chance was still a chance, and as per her promise his sister's hospital bill, and surgery as well as his parents were all paid for as soon as he had come off the phone,Ti-Sur found the whole thing too strange to believe, but it was happening and she could do nothing to change this man's mind, he was determined to see this through despite the obvious hints of ulterior motives both her and himself picked up on.
after spending the entire free day beside his sister Parker was called to the front desk.
"I'm taking part in the eclipse games sis, it's been a while but I feel like I can be useful through doing this, here's a billion dollar cash prize if I win, and well, of I die in the process of the Eclipse Games, you'll get ten million dollars, that's a lot right?" He smiled at her. "Either way, as soon as I'm there, your life will be better, it'll be much better than it was before, I asked Sue from the front to tell you about mom and dad if you were awake before I got back... I'm really sorry Amy, for all the garbage you've had to endure because of me-"
"Parker Carter, Parker Carter there is a vehicle in the front waiting for you." He heard Ti-Sue on the speakers and stood immediately.
"Don't worry, I talked about it but there's no way I'm dying, I won't leave you alone, I'll do this, I'll win and I'll come back to you, just do the same Amy," he placed his hand on her's and then pulled off a ring he'd kept since childhood placing it on her finger. "Don't die."
With that he was gone, walking the stairs instead of taking the elevator and then jogging through the halls before slowing down at the front desk.
"Sue...."
"Don't you worry Parker, I'll definitely keep a close eye on her, and I'll be watching you too, so don't you dare die out there."
"I definitely won't!" He called back as he began walking toward the doors.
"Good luck kid." One of the other staff members slapped him on the shoulder as he reached the door. "I pray for your success, so you can reunite with your sister."
"Thank you." Parker have the man a small smile before the lights of outside enveloped him, what came next was someone softly calling his name in that light.
"Good to see you haven't chicke ed out because of the pressure." Came the woman's voice as he found himself enveloped in camera attention from every angle.
"Parker, over here!" A reported came right up in his face but before she uttered a word his recruiter from WIP took her by the face and pushed her back into the swarm of cameras causing a small chain reaction of a few falls.
"Come on Mr celebrity, we're on a tight schedule."
"Do you have any kind of advice for me going in this game?" He asked her and she smiled at him as the car door opened. "Nothing?" He asked her as she got in and went to the other side. "Really?" He asked again.
"I have quite the investment in you Carter, I have spend out of my very own pocket for you, because I believe you might well win this with the right startup," She spoke as soon as the door was closed behind him and the car began moving. "As for advice I can offer none, it goes against WIP guidelines for the games, whatever you need to know will be relayed on the flight to Eclipse island." She spoke but then reached over as if she was going to kiss him leaning forward until he was right before her then placed her finger on his lips when she saw him puckering.
"You like the water Parker?" She asked and a trickle of sweat fell from his chin, this woman was absolutely beautiful, and her gestures were every bit of sensual as one could get, she was a complete tease, but going back to her question he shook his head yes.
"That's a pity then, you shouldn't linger near any." She said before suddenly going stoic again and scooting back over to the corner where she took out a small piece of cloth from the door and handed it to him. "Take a long whif of that."
"What's on it?" He asked, but she remained silent, of course he knew, the moment he sniffed the cloth it was gonna be lights out, but he had signed up for the eclipse games, and this woman was his benefactor, meaning everything she said was his law, so without thinking over it too much he placed it over his face and inhaled until his hands became too weak to even hold it, afterward it was as he expected, lights out.
