1328 Words
“Lunox, sit here dear, I have to ask you some questions” aunt Margie called me as I was trying to be invisible walking behind my dad, but to her, dad was invisible. I looked at dad for a while and then walked towards the kitchen table. I sat down beside her smelling her lavender perfume. “How are you, Lunox? Are you still having nightmares?.. the…” her voice began to fade as the flashbacks began to crept in me; the thought of made me wanna disappear. “…. She’d be happy for you if you do that…” I looked at her controlling the anger I feel rising within me. “Aunt Margie, would you mind stop talking about Laura? To be honest, she doesn’t like you… we don’t like you…..” Uggghhh what would I give to say those words? “Yeah, I will”, I said, looking down. Can anyone save me from this situation? “What are you two talking about?” I heard mom’s voice behind us. “Nothing.am just catching up.” I am standing up, this is my time to exit this awful situation. “I’ll be sleeping now mom, good night..” I give her a hug “good night aunt Margie..” hugging her also. I found myself sitting on my bed looking through the window. I watched the moon shining brightly and felt the sensation of peace. The whole place began to lose its bright as I noticed clouds were covering the moon. The weather was nice a moment ago, but I think it’s going to rain now. Tiny rain drops began to hit my window and suddenly, the peace became a feeling of sadness and pain…. Lightning struck and it lit the whole town. I was shocked not by the lighting but by the man standing in front of my window. It was the same person I saw in school. Wait, what in the world? How did he know my house? Is he a criminal? Why is he here? I looked at my wall clock and it says 12:40. It’s already midnight. Why is this person here? The lightning struck again and I saw him looking at me… “Please… Fleur.. let’s escape the gods… fear not my love.. fear not. Stop running away from me..” he is literally far from me but his voice are like whispering. I feel the heat beside my eyes and my heart aching. I want to see him closely. I feel like I have known him for a long time. I wanted to ask him who he was but no words would come out of my mouth. “Fleur…” I found myself running down to get close to the strange person outside our house. I don’t know why I’m doing this but I need answers, I need to ask him. I opened the front door and there was, standing and crying, “Fleur…” he said, his voice was full of agony that I wanted to hug him. “I-I’m not Fleur.. My name’s Lunox, it’s already midnight. You should go home” I said, feeling heavy. “They give you different names every other time, but you are my Fleur..” he said, smiling bitterly. I found myself feeling the pain I felt when I saw Laura’s dead body inside the coffin; I was crying and I don’t even know why I felt like I lost control to my emotions. The lightning struck again and then he was gone, as I watched the empty road, I lost balance and fell to the ground, all I heard was my sobbing and the ceaseless pain inside me. I woke up earlier than expected because mom went inside my room. The last thing I remember was that I was on my knees crying while the rain was pouring hard. “Lunox what were you thinking of going outside in the middle of the night?” she said in a serious voice. “What happened mom?” I asked, for I have no idea how I got back to my room “I saw you unconscious on the street, I was so worried!” she said. “I’m sorry mom I might have sleep walk last night, this won’t happen again.” I replied to make her calm down. It's already break time so I decided to spend it in the library. I grab the book I was reading last time and sat down beside the shelf. I’m not comfortable seeing people when I read. I find it destructing, so I choose a place where no one goes and read peacefully. “Are you gonna continue the story?” the librarian asked me, I was shocked because she was standing infront of me, her name is Martha, but students call her moody Martha, because one day she likes you then the next day she hates you as if you did something bad to her, she’ve been in-charge of the library for almost 5 years now. Her hair is now turing gray and her skin is starting to have wrinkles. I don’t know how old Miss Martha is and I won’t ask her either, or I might end up being banned from the library. She’s wearing a black pencil skirt with her pale blue polo, her hair was tied up into a bun. “Yes miss, I’m gonna read it now.. might borrow it” I gave her a smile after I said that, we never really spoke to each other, since I’m the ‘loner kid’ in school. “I hope it ends well this time..” she said giving me a smile, I was puzzled to what she told that I ran out of words as she walk pass by me. What does she mean ‘ends well?’ This made me do the thing I’m avoiding. It is to check the ending of the story. I turn the pages of the book until I reach the end I almost drop the book; I saw nothing but empty pages. I don’t really know how it happened since I don’t look behind the book to check the ending. I suddenly remember what Ms. Martha said ”I hope it ends well this time..” what does she meant by that I stood up and went to the librarian desk because I was too bothered by what she said. “Ms. Martha, why does this book don’t have an ending?” I asked, standing in front of her, the big elevated table being the boundary between us two. “Oh? Let me see dear”. I gave her the book. She scanned it through the last page. I observed she was not shocked about it, she handed me the book back smiling, “The story’s not finished yet…” she said, giving me a wink. “ But why is it published?” I began to feel the nervousness raising within me. “Maybe it’s here by an accident? Or maybe it’s here for a reason?.. No one really knows” she said, smiling at me. I heard the rough rain falling outside and the thunder roared loudly, then the ache in my chest began to kick in. I found myself running away from the library. I feel my tears falling from my eyes. “It’s here by accident or for a reason?” I kept hearing those words along with the image of the mysterious guy I kept seeing when the weather is bad. “Fleur! Fleur! Fleur!” I kept hearing that familiar name. My head began to feel heavy and my body was starting to feel numb; everything around me started spinning. I kept hearing murmurs around me but I couldn’t understand a word. I see events and people who are very familiar to me, I see the guy smiling at me, kissing me, and keeping me warm.
