Eventually, I do go back inside. The house is so empty. For the first time since Gracie and I moved in two weeks ago, no one is here with me. I try blasting some music to fill the silence, but nothing feels right and I keep switching through songs getting more and more annoyed until I finally turn it off. I end up fully silencing my phone when I realize that I'm checking for texts every time I go to change the song. I know I won't hear from Taylor. She warned me just like she promised she would. But now in addition to feeling the sting of her absence, I'm worried about her too. I text Alex and say, apparently I'm home alone all weekend.
