Chapter 1 The Prodigal System
The weather in June has been unbearably hot. On the street, a young man in his mid-twenties was holding a stack of paper in his hand. If you look closely, it's a resume. He had just come out of the Bhutto Group, the largest company in H city, and the interviewer's words were still echoing in his mind:
"The position you applied for has already been filled. I'm sorry."
The young man's face was gloomy, and he seemed to see contempt and ridicule in the interviewer's eyes. In fact, he had successfully applied for this position yesterday. Today he just came to fill in some information, but he encountered an unexpected change. He knew that he was kicked out ruthlessly because a nephew of a senior executive wanted this position.
"Damn it, you look down on people!" The young man exhaled angrily.
This is his last year of college, and many of his classmates have already found jobs. He originally entered the best company in H city, which was enough to make many classmates envious, but something happened at the last moment.
Jingle Bell……
The cell phone rang. The young man took it out and looked at the caller ID with a gentle smile on his face.
"Lily." His voice was very gentle. At the other end of the phone was his girlfriend Martina Lily.
"Aadam Holmes," a soft voice came from the phone, "you...didn't succeed in the interview?"
Aadam Holmes was slightly startled and didn't understand what Martina Lily knew, but still replied with some disappointment: "Yeah."
After a pause, Aadam Holmes said angrily: "It's all because of a kid who went through the back door, otherwise I would have passed the interview." Thinking of the kid who had a backstage to steal his position, Aadam Holmes' anger ignited again.
"Aadam, let's break up." Martina Lily spoke softly after being silent for dozens of seconds.
"Break up...break up?" Aadam Holmes didn't react for a moment, and his voice was a little unnatural: "Lily, are you kidding me? Today is not April Fool's Day."
After a pause, Aadam Holmes said quickly: "I know you are blaming me for not finding a job, Lily, give me time, I will definitely be able to find a better one..."
Before he finished speaking, he was interrupted by Martina Lily: "Aadam, break up, we are not suitable."
"What's inappropriate?" Aadam Holmes' mouth showed a trace of difficulty.
"Boy, let me tell you what's inappropriate." A man's voice came from the phone, "Because you are poor and you have no background. Is this clear enough?"
"Who are you?" Aadam Holmes frowned and said angrily: "Where's Lily, let her speak!"
"Haha, I'm Lily's boyfriend. She won't care about you anymore." The man laughed loudly, his voice full of joking: "By the way, I forgot to tell you, I am the one who stole your position!"
After saying this, the phone was hung up. Aadam Holmes was stunned for a few seconds, subconsciously wanting to throw the phone out, but finally pulled it back. He was filled with anger that had nowhere to vent, because he never thought that the person who took his position would also take his girlfriend. This was simply intolerable.
"Damn, I must become a rich man, no matter what the cost!" Aadam Holmes said through gritted teeth.
"Is it okay at any price?" At this moment, a cold voice came from Aadam Holmes' mind, almost scaring him to death.
"Who's talking?" Aadam Holmes asked tremblingly, cursing in his heart, what a bad year!
"You don't need to know who I am." The cold voice sounded again, "I can make you a rich man, you just need to answer whether you are willing to pay any price?"
"Are there... rich people?" Aadam Holmes' voice trembled, he took a deep breath and tried to keep his voice calm, "Can you really make me a rich person?"
"Yes." The cold voice answered simply.
"Then please hurry up and make me a rich man. I am willing to pay no matter what the cost!" Aadam Holmes said quickly. He didn't completely believe it was true, but he still had a sense of luck. What if it was true?
Just as Aadam Holmes finished saying this, there was a ding in his mind, and a message was displayed:
"At 15:15, Hiram Noyes, the second-largest shareholder of the Bhutto Group, transferred 5% of his shares to Aadam Holmes."
"One hundred...five percent of the shares!" Aadam Holmes opened his eyes wide, his voice began to tremble, he felt his heartbeat speeding up, and his heart was filled with shock!
"Is this true?" Aadam Holmes couldn't believe it. It all happened so suddenly.
"Are you Mr. Holmes?" A man's voice suddenly sounded, and following the voice, a middle-aged man in a black suit walked quickly toward him.
The voice brought Aadam Holmes out of his shock. He looked at the stranger in front of him with doubts in his heart. The man's sharp eyes gave people an unusual feeling.
The man stood in front of Aadam Holmes, holding a one-inch color photo in his hand. He looked at the photo seriously, then looked at Aadam Holmes, and said seriously: "Yes, it's you."
"Who are you?" Aadam Holmes was full of doubts. He didn't seem to know this person. Taking a look at the photo in the man's hand, he was surprised. It was a one-inch color photo of him: "How...how do you have a photo of me?"
"Mr. Holmes, let me introduce myself first." The man smiled slightly, "My name is Lance Ezekiel. I am a lawyer. You are my client. I have an agreement here that I need you to sign."
"Agreement?" Aadam Holmes suddenly felt something and his heart beat faster.
"It's like this." Lance Ezekiel explained, "Hiram Noyes, the second-largest shareholder of the Bhutto Group, transferred five percent of the shares held by him to your name half an hour ago. You just need to sign, and from now on, you will be the second-largest shareholder of the Bhutto Group."
In fact, when Lance Ezekiel walked out of the city's No. 1 Hospital and now found Aadam Holmes, his inner shock did not diminish at all. As one of the top lawyers in the country, he has never seen any big storms, but today he encountered something that shocked him extremely - Hiram Noyes, the second-largest shareholder of the Bhutto Group, actually gave away 5% of the Bhutto Group he owned. The shares were transferred to the name of a college student named Aadam Holmes. This is absolutely shocking.
Aadam Holmes, the name Lance Ezekiel has never heard of, when did such a character appear? After checking the information, it turned out that he was just a college student and had nothing to do with Hiram Noyes. In the blink of an eye, this college student is worth tens of billions!
Hiram Noyes has no children, and his wife died in a car accident a few years ago. He originally planned to set up a charitable foundation with his shares, but at the last moment of his death, he transferred all the shares to Aadam Holmes' name. This is definitely a huge event within the Bhutto clique!
Aadam Holmes looked at the document in his hand dumbfounded. He unexpectedly became the second-largest shareholder of the Bhutto Group overnight, owning 5% of the shares of this Fortune 500 company! This share alone is worth more than 10 billion!
What surprised him even more was that he had no relationship at all with Hiram Noyes. If there is, it is only because they are all Chinese. But in fact, Hiram Noyes didn't know him at all.
Taking a deep breath, Aadam Holmes pinched his thigh hard. The pain convinced him that this was not a dream.
