Mr. Barris looked at the back of the best boss he ever had, wondering whether to tell her about his suspicions.
"You thinking what I'm thinking?" a voice from behind asked. He turned; it was Mr. Casler.
"If you're thinking sabotage," Mr. Barris said. "Sure."
Mr. Casler nodded.
"You found anything?" he asked.
"No," Mr. Barris said. "Which is why I said nothing. I have nothing to go on."
"She's a good one," Mr. Casler said. "She really listens to what I have to say, you know? Unlike most construction alchemists, who sit in their tidy offices and only visit construction sites when absolutely necessary, she comes every day, and talks to the people. Makes sure everybody can do good work. Knows what she's talking about, too."
