It was nice to be settled into our house. Once we had it all fixed up, and moved all our belongings from storage, the house was full of our furniture and possessions.
It was nice to finally sleep in our bed, together.
Having privacy and all that time alone gave us a chance to finally enjoy our time as newlyweds.
We had to cook now that we weren't at the inn, but it wasn't so bad. My usual diet of meat and potatoes was too heavy for this area, though, so we had to eat salads and soups. Otherwise, the heat could get unbearable on a full stomach. Correction: it would get even more unbearable on a full stomach.
I sent a telegram to Grandpa, informing him we had settled down, and he could come live with us temporarily while he found his own housing.
