Maze P.O.V

We continue eating dinner, talking about the rest of our day, and making talking about Rebecca. We start to clean up and say goodnight to each other. As I walk down the hall, I notice the painting of the Royal family with both their children;

-I wonder if she changed after she lost her child? I could never imagine the pain that must have caused her.-

I continue walking to my room and I walk across Rebecca's room, where she is talking with someone. I can't make out what she's talking about, but I do make out one word. "Your majesty." 

She must be on a call with the queen. She sounds like she's getting scolded by her. I hear the phone hang up and I start walking away; Whatever she did must have gotten her angry. Guess that confirms the rumors of her being mean to helpers.

I arrive at my room to find Mary in the room as well;

"Oh, Hello Prin- I mean Maze, I wasn't expecting you so soon," she said placing a box on my bed. 

"It's fine Mary. What is that?" I said pointing to the box;

She quickly picked it up and walked towards me;

"Well, the king sent you this as a welcome to the castle. He wanted to make you feel comfortable during your stay," she said while handing me the box.

I looked at her with my face filled with confusion. She looked at my face and said;

"Don't worry, it's one gift. You don't have to accept them all," she said while patting my shoulder.

She left the room and then it was just me. I looked down at the box, wondering what the king had sent to me as an offering. I head to my bed and sit down with the box on my lap. I examine the box, noticing the white silk ribbon surrounding it. I untie the ribbon slowly and pull the top of the box off;

I see a book labels, "The Art of Yona," then I realized that this was one of my favorite stories as a child. It told the story of a rising soldier who was looked down upon and later admired.

It was still in condition and had the signature of Yona themself. In the book, there was a note from the King. It said, "We've heard that you enjoy history, hopefully, this is to your liking. From the King," Guess they've heard of me. I put the note back and place the book on my desk. I head to the shower, turning the heat on, standing under the water. 

I finish taking my shower and head to bed and start reading the book;

"Chapter one: Illusions surround us..." 

As I read the first few chapters, I could feel myself feeling the author's emotions while writing this. Their anger, pain, happiness, humor, all throughout the chapters; Without realizing, I had fallen to sleep.

        ~The Next Day~

I wake up with the sun on my face, laying next to my book wide opened. I got up and walked towards the terrace; I looked over the kingdom as the sunset consumed the land with its light. I remember what they told me yesterday, "You'll meet the Royal family in two weeks," I decided to start working hard to learn everything I need to know for them.

        ~Time Skip~

Over the next two weeks, I've learned about the systems of ruling that have existed over the years, along with fashion and War tactics that have changed; I've also been talking to Ashley about this stuff, so she's been a big help.

I haven't heard any word of Rebecca and the queen having any disagreements. Mainly cause I haven't been to her room, but still.

I'm helping out Ashley with her duties when I hear Mary come in;

"Princess Maze, the Royal family is ready to meet you now," she said bowing.

I say goodbye to Ashley and follow Mary to the throne room. I don't think they understand, I'm not meeting the Royal Family, the Royal Family is meeting me.
