Maya-Mated to the Alpha

The coppery smell of blood in the small room hit her as it brought her back to realization in the room she was in. She could hear the loud laughter of men outside and tried to remember where she was and how she got in there. The door creaked and a small man came in grumbling about something. She whispered to him but he left almost immediately. Maybe he wanted to let her know people lived there or to show he could not do anything and he was as helpless as she was. She heard moaning in the paper like wall from the next room and knew it was probably a small motel or a house with lots of people in it. Another man came in, this time bigger than the small man. The small light shone as he switched on the bulb. He had pale yellow hair with a hint of ginger and held a bottle of beer. She stood up, staring at him, shocked at herself for the sudden short loss of memory. She couldn’t believe her eyes. “What are you doing here?,” she whispered, not believing she could say anything that was that loud. He said nothing as he smirked. She couldn’t say anything more and that was when he knew he had won. “Maya, i know you remember what happened,”he said. She tried to feign ignorance but her reaction on her face gave her away. Everything that happened last night had sealed she was running away from. The reason she had always denied. She stayed glued and he continued. “Maya, you are my Luna and you already knew this day was going to come”, he said holding her hand. “I drank a lot”, she said in her head and she knew that was the reason she would have given herself. Maya and Ken were childhood friends. She was the daughter of the heiress of a wealthy Alpha and he was the son to the best friend of Alden and a soon to be Alpha of his own pack. Their families had built a long standing friendship that had helped their businesses grow to be one of the richest and powerful. One could not talk about an empire without mentioning the Rodrigues family. She and Ken had gone to the same elementary school and high school and had been best friends. He had protected her from bullies. He was an handsome guy and she caught herself staring at him once or more. “I know you hate me but you should know it was supposed to happen”, he said bringing her back to reality. There it was- another excuse!. She picked her bag on the bed and found her shoes beside the bed. She walked to the door and fell on the floor crying. She wasn’t supposed to cry. She was strong, she felt so. She stood up again and opened the door, the smell of alcohol and baked bread hitting her face. She stepped outside the porch immediately regretting why she ordered a cab and not using her car to come see him. She sat on the porch and heard him growling from the room. She could recognize his growling even when she was blindfolded. They had practiced growling together while they were growing. She felt his hand on her and wondered why she didn’t want him to be with her. She loved him but she didn’t want to be with him. “Don’t touch me,”she growled “What went wrong?”,he spoke softly He finally let her go and smiled. “Let me order a cab for you”, he said and he kissed her softly on her forehead. She remembered.
