His lost mate

Two: Betrayal.

As Violet stood as still as she could while still swaying, the words replayed in her head. «YOU’RE GONNA BE A DAD!!»

As she started swaying more, she felt her body dropping down to the floor before everything went black.

When she woke up, her brother was at her bedside snoring in a hospital chair. She looked all around her room at the pack infirmary for her mate, but didn’t see him anywhere.

As she looked back to her brother, he woke up with a jump and stared at her sadly. When she asked “Where’s Matthew?" Her brother looked at her sadly and told her he was with the pregnant woman, Eliza, because she was pregnant with his child.

As Violet understood what he had said and came to the conclusion that Eliza and her baby were more important than her to him, she felt tears prickle her eyes.

“What happened? Did the doctor tell you why I blacked out? It’s not normal for me to blackout” She questioned her twin.

“The doctor told me to get him when you wake back up because he wants to talk to you” Victor then got up and went to get the doctor as Violet came to a realization.

He cheated.

Eliza couldn’t be more than 3 months along (since werewolf pregnancies are typically 5 to 6 months) and Violet’s birthday was almost 6 months ago.

“I had a feeling we shouldn’t let him mark us” said Ira. “Be glad we didn’t let him, because if we did, we would’ve been stuck with him and she probably would’ve lost her baby” The wolf added the last part quietly.

As Violet felt tears dropping on her cheeks, the pack doctor came in. He grabbed his notepad and asked her how she was feeling. “Fine” she replied quietly

“Now, Violet, you blacked out because you were dehydrated and stressed. Those are never a good combo. Especially for the pregnancy...” As she heard the last words, she quietly corrected him “I’m not the pregnant one, James, the pregnant one is Eliza.”

James sucked in a short breath and quickly told her “Oh sweetie, I’m sorry to tell you this but you’re pregnant”

As Violet and her brother stared at each other shocked, she quickly regained her composure and told both men not to tell Matthew about this news.

She sucked in a deep breath as the doctor told her he understood and left the discharge papers on the foot of her hospital bed.

She quietly got dressed, in a daze, and her brother walked out with her.

As she walked to the pack house, all she felt was pain from finding out the truth about her mate. She couldn’t seem to understand why he did what he did.

As she walked inside of the pack house, all the pack members that saw her looked at her with pity.

She then saw, in the middle of the room, Matthew feeding Eliza and rubbing her protruding stomach while she was sitting on his lap.

When he noticed Violet, he moved Eliza over to sit on the chair on her own and walked slowly to Violet. Her eyes were filled with indignation at his actions.

When he was close enough, she reached her arm out to stop him from coming closer. He looked at her with defeat and started talking “I’m sorry I couldn’t come to the hospital, but I just had to stay with Eliza... she’s pregnant with my pup, Violet”

She wanted to scream so violently but she didn’t.

She couldn’t.

Because if she did, he would never let her leave and she couldn’t have that.
