BLOOD ON FANGS Rogue Pack One The heavy bass buzzed through the building like a swarm of hornets, each beat leaving behind a trail of irritation that clung to her skin. Yeah, that—and the stench of drunk, sweaty, and overly horny people pressing together like sardines in a can. The air was thick with heat and bad decisions, and Blaze could feel the chaos humming under her skin as she pushed deeper into the club. She continued, weaving through the crowd toward the one person who could give her the answers she was looking for, or at least tell her where to get them. Her irritation grew with every step. No offense, but drunk equals no boundaries, and these people had lost every ounce of self-control the moment they walked through the door. A breathy laugh escaped her lips as she watched one poor soul—barely old enough to be in the club—try to play it cool, only to faceplant into the floor for the second time in five minutes. People like that? They thought alcohol made them invincible. Blaze shook her head in pity. Flying without wings never ended well. "Hey, Blaze! Over here!" Her gaze darted across the flashing lights and writhing bodies until she spotted the middle-aged man waving at her like he was flagging down a cab in a storm. Sean. Leave it to him to be as flashy as the club's strobe lights. She made her way to him, dodging a few too-friendly hands along the way. “Hey Sean, how do you do?” Sean struck a pose like he was about to hit the runway, arms spread wide to showcase his outrageous outfit. “Well? How do I look?” Blaze raised an eyebrow, eyeing him up and down. “Honestly? You look a little washed.” She smirked, watching the flicker of offense cross his face, that hit a soft spot. If you want to last ten minutes in this club, then don't mess with Sean and his outfits... Period. He scoffed, running a hand through his slicked-back hair. “Nothing a little beauty sleep can’t fix, don’t you think?” “And, you better thank your stars I love you, kid,” he grumbled, glaring at her as he took a slow drag from the cigarette nestled between his fingers. The smoke curled around his face like a protective haze. “That being said, you wouldn’t mind lighting up the stage and setting this place ablaze, would you?” Blaze held up her hands in a mock surrender, already backing away. “Oh, hell yes I would. I’ll pass on that offer, buddy.” She pivoted toward the bar, her eyes already on the rows of glittering bottles lined up like soldiers ready for battle. Behind her, Sean’s groan of protest chased her like an angry wasp. “You wouldn’t mind me grabbing one or two drinks from the bar, right?” she threw over her shoulder. “I will kick your ass right now for half a dollar bill, and yes I would mind. I do mind!” Sean’s voice rose above the pounding music. “And that, my dear Sean, wasn’t a request,” Blaze responded, halting in her tracks and turning to face him. Sean’s phone beeped before he could fire off another complaint, drawing his attention away. Blaze took the opportunity. “Anyway, you happen to know where I can find Kyra?” she asked, eyes narrowing as she tried to read his expression. Sean squinted at his phone. “Uhm, she’s with Lex. And I gotta go—duty calls.” Before Blaze could say a word, he vanished into the mass of sweaty, dancing bodies like a magician’s trick. One second there, the next—poof. Blaze let out a frustrated groan. “And now, where the f**k can I find Lex? Who’s with Kyra?” she called after him, but her words were swallowed by the deafening music. “Ahh, he’s so unbelievable,” she muttered to herself, shaking her head. Well, fine. She wasn’t about to chase shadows all night. Drinks first, answers later. Blaze turned back toward the bar, her irritation simmering just below the surface. It was definitely drinks before babes, and with any luck, a lead would find her before she had to beat it out of someone. Her questful walk continued, each step echoing with determination. *** Lisa Lawrence, from the Evergreen Pack. She was sixteen when she disappeared, eleven years ago.” Raid placed the missing girl’s file on the table, sliding it toward Night. “Oh, and I forgot to mention,” Raid continued, “she’s Alpha Donald’s youngest daughter. And that makes sense because an alpha wolf would do anything to get his pup back. Losing a pup would drive any Alpha insane, and probably push them into irrational decisions. Their possessiveness doesn’t just disappear, it festers.” Raid finally looked up from the document to find Night staring at the file, jaw clenched, fury simmering just beneath the surface. “Any father would do anything for his pup.” With that, Night stormed out of the office. Raid sighed, shaking his head. “And I haven’t even told him about Annette Fredrick and Lucia Woods yet.” *** “I guess the saying’s true—it’s hard to find the right bitches these days.” Blaze’s voice cut through the music, loud enough for Kyra and Lex to hear. Lex smirked, running her blood-red tongue over her lips. “So, what do you want? A nice, greasy ass f**k?” She arched her back, swaying her hips, running her hands over her curves with a slow, deliberate motion. “Or are you in the mood for a hardcore p***y pounding with a little extra boost?” Kyra added with a wink. Blaze c****d a brow. “How about a badass headbang instead?” Kyra snorted. “b***h, you haven’t changed a bit.” “And you two never will—not even for a dripping-wet, hard-and-fast p***y swipe,” Blaze smirked. Lex grinned wickedly. "Well, the joke's on you if it took you two weeks away to figure that out?” With a sharp tug, she yanked down her barely-there bra, letting her breasts spill free, rosy peaks stiff from the cool air. Kyra groaned, licking her lips. “Mmm, f**k, baby, you’re putting me in the mood.” Without hesitation, she leaned in, latching onto one n****e, sucking hard while pinching the other between her fingers. Lex let out a low moan, hips rolling at the sensation. Blaze groaned, rubbing her temple. “Gross. Suck it up, you freaks.” Kyra smirked. “Ain’t that exactly what I was trying to do?” Lex giggled, pulling back. “Go on, baby, go find yourself a nice guy to pound that p***y like a brute, we'll finish this later.” She winked and sauntered off, leaving Kyra grinning. Blaze shook her head. “If your appetite for food was half as big as your appetite for s*x, you’d weigh 728 pounds.” Kyra scoffed. “Oh, c’mon, don’t exaggerate. I haven’t had a guy in at least three hours.” “And girls?” Kyra smirked. “Okay, you got me. But it’s not that bad. At least I’m not like Louisa—she practically lives on d**k. Cut me some slack.” “You know what? I quit. This is nymphomaniacal.” “And I love it.” Kyra laughed, tossing back a shot. Blaze leaned against the bar. “Hey, you heard anything about a missing girl from a few years back?” Kyra’s playful expression darkened. "And I was starting to think you came around to discuss my s****l appetite.” “Just answer the damn question.” Kyra sighed. “Girls have gone missing for years, and still are. It’s not just one or two. And it’s not a coincidence.” Blaze frowned. “What’s taking them?” Kyra’s gaze sharpened. “It’s not what. It’s who.” Blaze’s brows furrowed. “Who?” Kyra exhaled. “Haven’t you heard? There’s a gang, they call themselves ‘The Fangs.’ Technically, it’s ‘Blood on Fangs,’ but everyone just calls them Fangs. Lame name, right?” She rolled her eyes. Blaze’s stomach twisted. “People actually think they’re behind the disappearances?” Kyra’s expression hardened. “No, they don’t think. They know. But nobody does anything about it.” Blaze’s hands clenched into fists. “And why the f**k not?” Kyra poured them another shot. “Because the first thing mamas teach their kids now is—don’t mess with the Fangs.” Blaze threw her drink back in one gulp, slamming the glass down. “Good thing I don’t have a mama.” Kyra sighed, shaking her head. “I know what you’re thinking. And it’s not a good idea.” Blaze met her gaze with a smirk. “And you know what is?”
