Chapter 1: Silent Storm!
Everything seemed to have been turned dark and black, it was like a veil of sadness had fallen over the hearts of everyone that was present, raining heavily no one could tell how tears were mixed with rain of all that were present. The Kingdom had lost its keeper, its protector and its guiding light king Randolph. He had been ill for a long time suffering but now he had finally found relief. Hands trembling queen Emily saw the body of her husband lying in front of her. "Why did you leave us alone Randolph." she whispered and looked towards her daughter who was trying not to shed a single tear so she could appear strong in front of their people. Regina was strong like her mother and intelligent like her father, she knew she could not show any weakness in front of others at such a time or doubt's will arise regarding the Kingdoms welfare even if she had just lost her father. A princess had a role to play and that also meant not to show weakness even at her most vulnerable time. As the King's casket was lowered into the ground, a few tears found their way down her cheeks, which she brushed of and smiled remembering how her father always wanted to see her. "Goodbye Father. Praying she closed her eyes. "May you rest in peace after all your pain and sufferings." All the people around them bowed their heads down in respect their hearts mourning for such a great loss. Composing herself she walked towards her mother “This is better than him suffering mother, at least now he can rest and watch over us from heaven.” Smiling for her mothers benefit they both stood in silence contemplating that life had just taken a different turn. “Don’t worry. I'm still here, I'll take care of everything." Seeing the determination in her amber eyes Emily knew Regina was telling the truth and she smiled in response understanding that her daughter was not only smart but courageous as well. Just like her Father. Sighing she turned around to look over the people present around them. “I know that we had have just lost someone very important but I assure you that just as Randolph kept this land happy and safe we will do our best as well.” As the Funeral came to an end everyone started coming and offered their condolences, the Mitsubishi lords who had been greatly favored by the late king bowed in front of the queen. "We are extremely sorry for your loss her Highness, princess Regina." Regina instantly became a little happy seeing them and her eyes stared past them to look for her childhood friend instead she only found herself a little disappointed at not being able to find him. “Edward couldn't come as he is not presently here My lady.” Regina turned around as she heard this and nodded a little hurt but brushing it off as not being his fault that he had prior engagements. After everyone left Regina helped her mother inside the castle, sensing that her mother wanted some time alone she seated her on the chair near the fireplace and turned around to leave. Just as she reached the door a whispered voice stopped her. "Thank you Regina, my child." Emily was looking at her with a smile, Regina smiled as well and left the room. She was walking towards her own room thinking about many things, entering the room she was greeted by the presence of her cousin sisters. "Are you Alright?" Ella inquired grabbing her left hand,, seating her down on the bed while Rose only hugged her. Regina was a little happy to see them. "Yes I'm fine. Ella, Rose thank you for being here." "I know it's hard but things will get better so don't worry." Ella soothed her best friend with a smile. Regina nodded and everyone was silent for a few minutes when all of a sudden Rose pulled them both off the bed, "Hey! Why don't we all go out in the gardens for a walk or something." Ella turned toward her with a cold expression for that suggestion, “Really Rose” she gave her a stern look upon which Rose exclaimed "Oh come on! It will get our mind off everything that is happening and a walk never hurts anyone." When Both Regina and Ella didn't seen convinced by her reasoning she pleaded “Please.” Regina chuckled at her childish behavior. "Sure let's do it." "The first one to reach the garden gets to boss the other two for a whole day." turning around she sprinted down the corridors leaving Ella and Regina behind but Regina was quick on her feet and made a run for the garden as well. "So that's how you girls want to do this." she huffed and rushed after them. All of them made their way toward the garden while shrieks from the servants could could be heard from everywhere as the princess and her cousins appeared in front of them suddenly and disappeared just as suddenly, it seemed as the darkness was slowly lifting. They reached outside and started playing with water. "Take that." Rose chipped as she splashed water all over Regina, and started laughing. "Oh no you don't" Regina muttered as she took her revenge. The Queen looked down at her daughter from her rooms window. "My little girl, she looks so young and energetic" she thought smiling. A knock on the door interrupted her thoughts. She sat back on the chair. "You may enter." Many Advisors' entered the room and stood in front of her. "My lady we know its not the right time but- " he trailed off hesitated. "What is it?" "My queen you are aware that the King just passed away without an heir." started one of them. "Yes I know." the queen fixed him with a resigned look, knowing what they were trying to say but hating it nonetheless. "So for our Kingdom to prosper, we need a male figure or else others will see us as a weak nation." "State clearly what you are trying to say." Sensing the atmosphere an older advisor decided to speak up. "What we're trying to say her Highness is that we need a Male heir and the only way to do that is by getting the princess married and collaborating with a strong Kingdom." he told her stressing the word Male heir. "Regina was supposed to Marry lord Edward Mitsubishi as it had been arranged by the King himself." she told them, rubbing her temple as she felt a headache coming. "Situation at that time was quite different as you know it and Mitsubishi is not the right choice to be a King. Especially not now when we need someone who knows how to run a country and garners the respect of his people." he stated without hesitancy. "But she is in love with that i***t boy, if only you were here Randolph." she thought but would never say that out loud. "Fine! Give me some time to think. Do you have someone in mind?" "Yes we do. The prince of Arendel.” " I understand, you may leave." All of them left the room just as she stood up and walked toward the window looking down at her daughter, her heart hurting for the sacrifice she was going to ask of her as so soon. "I'm sorry Regina but we will have to do it for our Kingdom."
