CHAPTER 7
As the hours ticked by, Roshan found himself pacing back and forth in the hospital room, his eyes fixed on the door where the medical team had taken the baby. Mira, sensing his anxiety, tried to reassure him, but even her calm words couldn't ease the knot of worry in his stomach.
Finally, after what felt like an eternity, the doctor returned with a smile on his face. "Everything looks good," he said, his voice warm and reassuring. "The baby's oxygen levels are back to normal, and she's doing great."
Roshan felt a wave of relief wash over him as he turned to Mira, who was smiling weakly from her bed. "See, I told you everything would be okay," she said, her voice barely above a whisper.
Roshan took her hand, feeling a sense of gratitude and love wash over him. "You're right," he said, his voice filled with emotion. "Everything is going to be okay."
As the medical team returned with the baby, Roshan felt his heart swell with love and pride. He gazed at the tiny form, feeling a sense of wonder and awe wash over him.
"What should we name her?" Roshan asked, turning to Mira with a smile.
Mira thought for a moment before responding. "How about Cornelia?" she suggested, her eyes sparkling with mischief.
Roshan chuckled, feeling a sense of joy and contentment wash over him. "I like it," he said, his voice filled with emotion.
As they gazed at their daughter, Roshan felt a sense of peace wash over him. He knew that he still had a lot to learn, but he was ready for the journey ahead.
But just as they were basking in the joy of their new family, Mira's eyes flickered towards the window, her expression suddenly serious.
"What's wrong?" Roshan asked, feeling a sense of unease wash over him.
Mira's eyes locked onto his, her voice barely above a whisper. "I think someone's watching us," she said, her eyes filled with a hint of fear.
Roshan's heart skipped a beat as he turned to look out the window. But all he saw was the dark night sky, the stars twinkling like diamonds in the distance.
He turned back to Mira, feeling a sense of confusion wash over him. "What do you mean?" he asked, his voice soft and gentle.
Mira's eyes locked onto his, her voice filled with a sense of urgency. "I don't know," she said, her voice barely above a whisper. "But I feel like we're in danger."
Roshan's heart skipped a beat as he felt a sense of unease wash over him. He looked around the hospital room, but everything seemed normal. The machines were beeping, the nurses were chatting, and the doctor was smiling.
But despite the calm atmosphere, Roshan couldn't shake off the feeling that something was off. He looked at Mira, his eyes locked onto hers.
"We'll be okay," he said, his voice filled with conviction. "I'll protect you and the baby. No one will hurt us."
Mira's eyes locked onto his, her expression softening. "I know you will," she said, her voice barely above a whisper.
As they gazed at each other, Roshan felt a sense of determination wash over him. He would do everything in his power to protect his new
family. No matter what dangers lay ahead, he would face them head-on.
