Chapter Twenty-Three They caught them. The couple who’d tried to escape. They were married. Maybe five years older than me. The Outer Guard carried them back in through the same break in the glass. They looked dead, but I knew they weren’t. Just like the two men who’d tried to escape weren’t. The Incorporation needed their DNA. Simple as that. They were worth too much alive. An awful sick feeling rolled through my stomach as they loaded the woman onto a gurney and strapped her down. The black-haired boy lunged toward her. “Addy.
