They had all settled down in the living room to enjoy their coffee and watch the news on TV when, after a knock at the door, Andrew opened the door for Alex to enter.
“Good, you are all here,” said Alex looking around.
“Is Mariam coming?” asked Andrew still holding the door open.
“No,” said Alex smiling. “She has story time at the day care.”
“I bet the children love to be told stories,” said Minnie.
“Yes,” agreed Alex. “Mariam loves it, too. I think she misses teaching.”
“I’m sure she would tell you if she wanted to teach,” said Minnie. Alex smiled at Minnie and nodded.
Andrew closed the door and started back to his seat before stopping and looking at Alex. “Would you like coffee?” he asked.
“No, I’m fine,” said Alex sitting in a chair facing everyone.
He waited for Andrew
