The Away Match Announcement
The announcement board in the sports complex corridor was always surrounded by a cluster of student-athletes, but today the crowd spilled out into the main lobby.
A formal notice posted by the Athletic Department confirmed the staff lineup for the upcoming regional away match against State University—a high-stakes game three hours away. Listed right beneath Coach Miller’s name was Ava’s name as the official lead intern for team recovery and sports psychology.
Within minutes, the news made its way onto digital chat threads and whispered conversations across the quad.
“She’s traveling with them?”
“They’re staying at the same hotel overnight.”
“First the late-night psychology meeting, now a weekend trip?”
