The Digital Spark
The blue light of the smartphone screen illuminated the dim corner of the library. On the screen, a blurry, high-contrast photo captured two figures stepping out of the Sports Psychology department office. It was clearly Ryker, his broad shoulders and athletic posture unmistakable, standing beside Ava. The clock in the background of the hallway read 9:15 PM.
The caption beneath it, posted by the infamous, anonymous campus forum The Campus Whisper, was brief and toxic:
"Looks like the captain has found a new favorite. Strategy sessions or late-night rendezvous?"
Within three hours, the post accumulated over two thousand likes and hundreds of comments.
“Isn’t he with Lila?”
“Ava’s been at every practice lately.”
“Typical athlete. Can’t stay loyal for one semester.”
