Coming to Ryker's house was a mistake.
A huge mistake.
A terrible mistake.
The absolute worst mistake of my entire week.
Probably my entire month, if I was being completely honest with myself.
I stood in the large, echoing entrance hallway, clutching a canvas tote bag against my chest like a shield.
Inside were the detailed chemistry notes Ryker had practically begged me to bring over before the finals next week.
The house smelled like old pizza, expensive cologne, and high-energy testosterone.
Typical varsity hockey house.
One of his teammates—a guy whose name I always forgot, maybe Miller or Mason—walked past holding a protein shaker and pointed casually upstairs.
