CHAPTER 3

“I was worried you didn't come home and didn't call, should I prepare your bathe” Madam Kate continued.

“Sorry, i slept off somewhere, sure you should, thanks” he said as she left them.

“ I need to look for a witch” Ken's face turned curious. It's been a while he talked about any woman since Linda left him.

Ken giggled “ have you finally seen a woman for your grandpa” Ken noticed he was squeezing a note hard.

“Let me see” as he snatched the note carefully from his grip and read.

“ What!! man” he chuckled harder, “ I guess you didn't perform well yesterday for her to run, who is she?” Ken stopped giggling as he saw Henry's face turning very cold. “ I guess she left prints on you for you to be this concerned”.

“It's not what you think, I just need to find her”. He frowned.

“Betty,open the door” Liara looked all tense and anxious.

“ Liara? You came here this early?What's going on” she said as she opened the door. Liara hugged her tightly, her arms wrapped around Betty's petite body and her brown hair wrapping her.

“ You are choking me” she coughed and looked at the teary eyed of her friend. “ Spill everything out”

“I caught Adams with Claire”

Betty expression was a bit off as Liara expected her to be surprised but she smiled “ I'm happy you realized it sooner, I always knew he was a jerk but you were blinded by love already and that Claire she is a b***h”

“I did something worse” Betty looked confused “ hope you didn't kill anyone?” She asked.

“ I had a one night stand with a stranger”

“What!!” Are you out of your mind? So you lost your virginity to a stranger?” Betty looked so surprised but she giggled too.

“Was he handsome, how was it?what really happened?” she grinned.

“ I had a collision with him on my way from Adams, He was not bad, we had few drinks and I'm sure it was the effects of the drinks, it was nice though but it's nothing serious just a mistake”

“Hope you didn't tell him it was a mistake? He will definitely feel bad”.

“ I did, it was a mistake indeed”

“Come here” she said as she pulled Liara's hair and ears and they chuckled.

Liara drove into the Garson’s villa as she parked in the garage, Claire sighted her through the window and quickly ran upstairs to inform her mom.

“ She's here mom, what are we going to do now?”

“Ohhh shut up you i***t, she will do nothing, stay quiet and leave her to me” Said Mrs Barbara Garson, Liara's stepmom and Claire’s mother as she applied her heavy red lip balm as she walked downstairs.

Liara noticed her and Claire ignored them as she walked towards the refrigerator and took a bottle of soda.

“Did you forget your manners you little brat and why didn't you come home last night?”Mrs Barbara lashed as she walked towards Her.

“Ask your cheap daughter what she was doing yesterday with my fiance, I bet she told you already or maybe you knew her intentions, she obviously took after you, always taking what doesn't belong to you.”

“Shut up, will you” as Mrs Barbara raised her hands to lash Liara a slap, Claire held her hands quickly, “No mom, don't get her furious, she might tell Dad”.

“No she won't” she said as she moved closer to Liara and whispered into her ears “ I'm sure you wouldn't, you understand right?” Liara shivered as she understood her, Her stepmom had threatened her always with the same incident that happened years ago. Claire was confused and curious as she couldn't detect what secret the duo shared that made Liara comply with her mom always and make her scared.

“ Whatever that was, it's definitely big and good,” Claire thought.

“ So you will continue your relationship with Adams as planned” Liara nodded

“Good girl” she pats her shoulder as Liara ran upstairs to her room with tears as she was reminded of an incident she wanted to forget so badly.

Five years back when she began her driving lessons,she drove through the hills on a rainy day and mistakenly hit a man as he ran into her suddenly, not knowing what to do she called her dad but Mrs barbara picked and she explained to her and she cover up the whole incident and told Liara the man died and never told anyone about it.

She always feels guilty for killing a person and Mrs Barbara always used it against her as only both of them alone knew about the incident.

“I miss you so much mom” Liara feeling so blue as she reminisces her childhood memories with her late mom and her dad.

“It's been fifteen years since you left mom”

She had always hated her dad after she found out her mom slumped when she discovered her dad was having an affair with Mrs Barbara and had a daughter with her already. And seeing how he cherish Mrs Barbara and Claire makes her angry the more but Mr Garson would never allow her being maltreated, indeed Mrs Barbara was his first love and he only had to marry her mom because of his family and her properties but Liara was his first daughter and he loves her but she believed whatever love her father have towards her was only because of guilt.

Few weeks later, Liara was feeling sick as her head felt heavy, she looked pale as she couldn't lift her body off her bed, her father hadn't seen her for days, he walked to her room only for him to see his daughter sick and shivering.

“ What is wrong with you? Why are you burning up this much” he said as he felt her body temperature with hands.

“ Barbara, get the doctor, Liara's not feeling good” He screamed as Mrs Barbara entered looking at the weak Liara on the bed, she smirked. “ Maybe she wants to join her dead mom,” she said.

“ This is not the time to pick up a fight” Mr Garson said to his wife as he gave her a stern look.

“Alright” she said and took her phone

“Hello doctor, Liara is feeling under the weather. Can you please come over to check on her” she said as gave her husband a sharp look.

“I will be fine dad” Liara said as she tried to move her weak body.
