All men sitting in a room looked at a strange young man. He smiled wickedly at them. The man, Lucca, stood up from his place at the top of the table. ''I need your help with my step-daughter.'' ''That's it?'' he asked, a slight american accent in his voice. '' Well if you put it that way. I need you to stalk her, each steps she takes, you will report to me. You need to make sure her powers will never get to the full potential.'' ''Powers?'' Hei asked, surprise clear in his voice. ''Yes powers, take a look yourself.'' Lucca approached Hei and gave him a thick folder. Upon opening Hei saw a photo of a pretty girl. She had long red hair, big brown eyes, small nose and thin lips. He read the report about her next to the photo. ''Josephine Stewents, mother Anastasia Stewents, father Edward Stephenson. Hei's eyes became big as a moon upon reading who was the father of the girl. ''The grand duke of Moonbay? Rhiannon's grand priest? You must be kidding me! The gossip were saying he died childless.'' ''Well gossips were wrong. He had a daughter. You do realize how dangerous Josephine will be when she reaches full potential. She turned eighteen on Thursday. The masking spell is wearing off. What do you think she will do to yours and mine kind when she finds out that we are the reason her father is dead?'' Lucca asked. ''What exactly you want me to do? I have to stalk her and make sure she's not trained? How am I supposed to achieve it?'' ''Make her fall in love with you.'' ''What? You do realize I have a mate waiting for me somewhere? If, I make her fall in love with me that would be betrayal.'' Lucca rolled his eyes. ''Please your mate won't find out, besides you are already over two hundred years old, and she or he is nowhere to be find.'' Hei could feel anger within him. 'How dare he?' he asked himself. However, for the sake of his father he remained calm. Hei couldn't brake the pact. That would mean war. ''Alright I'll do it but, there's one thing. I will never hurt this girl psychically. I have my own morals.'' ''Well-then, let me show you your new identity.'' Lucca passed him another folder, thinner than the last one. Inside was his photo. Hei started reading. His new name will be Lang Ling, student from Hong Kong, father is a businessman and mum is the principal of a school. He is eighteen years old. Hei rolled his at it. ''How long do I have?'' ''Three months, after that she won't be able to be stooped.'' With that Hei turned around and left the room. *** Josephine stepped into a bright room. One window showed London's skyscrapers. Her eyes landed on a wooden desk. Behind it a petite, black skinned woman sat. Josie could see small wrinkles on her forehead. The woman, Anna looked up and smiled. ''Oh my you must be Josephine. I am Anna.'' The woman stood up and approached Josephine. The girl thought she will shake her hand instead she embraced her in a tight hug. 'Anna smells like a cotton candy.' she thought. ''You must have so many questions but, first of all happy birthday darling. Can't believe this little, screaming on top her lungs, newborn turned out to be such a beautiful and fine young woman.'' Anna said with a teary voice. ''Sit down darling and I will answer all of your questions. Josephine listened to her and sat in front of her desk. Anne took her place, opposite of the girl and smiled at her. ''My dad sent me letter to come here. Why did he said I was dangerous? I don't want to hurt anyone.'' Josephine said after few seconds of silence. Anne took a deep breath. ''You see the world is not black and white, as humans seem to think. There are many creatures roaming around. Ghosts, demons, vampires, werewolves and witches. Josephine; you, your father, me and everyone working here is part of a clan of witches.'' Josephine laughed out loud. ''Witches? Vampires? Other creatures? This is ridiculous.I am not a witch.'' ''You are. What do you remember from your childhood?'' asked Anna. ''My mother's and my step-father's wedding.'' ''What else?'' The girl kept quiet for a while. Nothing came to her mind. Anna smiled at her delicately. ''See you don't remember much of your first seven years on this planet. There is such an easy explanation to it. Your father put a protective spell on you. In a result you forgot your father and your memories of him. You forgot all about magic. So did your mother.'' Josephine raised her head at the mention of her mother. ''What? My mother knows?'' ''She did, doesn't anymore. Your father took her memory too, replaced with basic, sometimes even with the brutal ones. Anastasia is suffering isn't she?'' ''Yes she is. Drunks so much alcohol.'' ''Well at least she's not doing drugs. If you decide to learn about your power, I will show you the way you can bring her memories back.'' ''What about mine ones?'' she asked curious. ''Yours will slowly come back in your dreams starting from tonight.'' Anna opened one of the drawers and pulled some book out of it. ''This is your father's diary. It's locked but I guess you do have a key?'' Josephine nodded at that. ''Take it and read it. I will give you my personal phone number, when you read it and decide that you want to become your father's successor call me.'' Anna handed her the book and the piece of paper with her phone number written on it. ''That's it for today. I hope to see you soon. Then she waved her hand and Josephine found herself in her room at school. Shocked girl felt on the bed. That's when the dreams started.
