Darkness Becomes Her

    "Alora? Draven? Where are you?"  Alice called for her friends.  "Over here Alice!"  There was a faint light from behind the clouds shining, but otherwise there was nothing.  The sky had turned completely black and the moon was hidden.  All of the lights in the putt putt area were out.  "I guess the power went out?  Was the sky this dark a minute ago?" Alora pulled out her phone and looked at it, "My phone is off.  Nothing is working on it, it won't even come on."  They all pulled out their phones and noticed none of them were coming on.

    "Let's go get in the car and head back.  Maybe it is some strange glitch here,"  Alice suggested grabbing Tyler and Alora's hands.  They walked back to the lot where the cars were.  Alice climbed in and put the key in the ignition, "It's not starting?  My car is dead."  "We rode here on our motorcycles, why don't you girls ride back with us?" Tyler suggested and pointed to two large bikes.  "Oh, that looks so fun!"  Alice squealed clearly excited.  Alora hesitated, "Is it safe?"  Draven wrapped his arms around her, "I would never allow anything to harm you my love."

    She smiled and took a helmet and climbed on behind him.  She felt the wind the bike purr beneath her and an adrenaline rush as he took off.  All of the street lights were out and cars were off on the sides of the road everywhere as if they had just quit.  She looked over to Alice who shrugged.  As they got closer to the city they noticed that there were no lights in any of the buildings as far as the eye could see.  

    "Why don't we take you ladies back to our house?"  Draven yelled over the roar of the bike's engine.  Alora nodded and Draven signaled to Tyler to follow.  They arrived at the huge mansion and went inside to see the other men gathered in the living room playing cards by candle light.  "Ah, it seems the power is out everywhere."  Geoffrey nodded and motioned for Draven to follow him.  "Why don't I go find us some food?  You and Alice go join the game."  He waited until Alora was settled into the couch and smiling at him before he turned and followed Geoffrey.

Draven's POV

    I walked in to the kitchen followed by Tyler. "You made a choice."  Geoffrey leaned back and nodded pleased with me, "You chose her and you chose your fate, now we can truly begin."  I thought about what he meant, I had chosen to accept her as my queen when Apollo threatened me.  I knew I didn't want to loose her and that meant choosing her as my eternity and sticking to that choice. "I did, I chose her as my queen.  I chose our future and our child."  "You did well, we have been waiting for this.  We didn't expect her to capture your interest so soon, but clearly you are very taken with her.  That is what we wanted all along."

    "What happens next?"  Tyler spoke up.  "Now we allow them to turn on themselves.  They have no electricity, no entertainment, they will begin to turn on each other.  Secrets will be told and skeletons brought out of closets.  You would be surprised what a little darkness can do the people.  The human race will go mad.  This is a world wide blackout and they cannot stop it."  I shivered thinking of the evil that was to come to this planet.  I knew what my next job was and it wasn't one I was looking forward to.

    I walked into the living room to see Alora yawning, she didn't know how to play cards, but she enjoyed trying.  It made me laugh to see her asking my guys questions and how her words enthralled them.  They were not blind to her beauty or charm.  I walked over and wrapped my arms around her shoulders, "Ready for bed?"  She nodded and I held out my hand for her.  She stopped to hug Alice goodnight before following me up the stairs.  We walked in my room and I tossed her a t-shirt and pair of sweatpants to wear.  She looked sexier in my clothes than anything I had seen her in.  She crawled under the covers and patted the bed beside her.  I took my shirt off and climbed in.  This was the second night she had been in my bed and I enjoyed the warmth the came from her being in it.  Every girl in the past had only felt cold and distant, she brought a peace I hadn't known before.  I pulled her into me and kissed her hair. "Goodnight gorgeous."

    Alora's POV

    The next day we woke up to complete darkness.  There was no light and the world was blackness.  My stomach growled and I knew I had to eat something.  These earthly needs were difficult to manage and I don't know how humans did it.  I rolled over to see Draven looking at me, "Good morning, well I suppose it's morning."  I giggled, "Could we get something to eat?"  "Of course, we will have to go to the store.  I think we're out of food here.  That's what happens when a lot of men live in one house."

    I laughed and got up to put my jacket and shoes on.  Draven climbed out and I glanced at his perfectly chiseled body.  I know he knew I was looking because he smiled and glanced up at me. I followed him down the stairs and out of the front door. We rode his motorcycle to the store a couple miles up the road.  He parked and we noticed a large crowd in front of the store.  I felt Draven stiffen in front of me as he led me to the storefront.

    People were yelling, "Our food is going bad!" "We have no power!"  "Give us your food!"  I looked around and the people and saw their stress turning into anger and violence.  The grocery store workers came out with carts full of food.  "This is all our food we have left!"  They began to throw the food to everyone as they fought to grab the food.  I suddenly felt panicked and had to get food quickly.  I dove into the crowd and grabbed items off the ground.  A man grabbed bread the same time as me.  It was the last loaf of bread they had thrown out.  "Let go b****!  I need this bread!"  "No, I am hungry I have to have this!"  I suddenly felt something I had never felt before, greed.  I pulled as he pulled and suddenly I pushed him and he fell backwards and tripped onto a rock behind him.  Everyone froze as his head began to bleed onto the rock.  I knew without checking, he was dead and it was my fault.  I had killed him.
