But everything changes when she and her best friend cross paths with Francesco, the feared and powerful Mafia Master known as “Master Nana.” While everyone else fears him or falls for his charm, Yurena only finds him annoying and arrogant. Yet her cold indifference is exactly what pulls him in. What starts as curiosity quickly turns into an intense, possessive obsession. Chapter 1: THE ENCOUNTER
Outside the city mall, late afternoon. Crowds milling about, cars passing by. Yurena walked beside her best friend Althea, chatting lightly about their day and window‑shopping along the pavement. Althea: “This mall really has everything, huh? Even the new café opened just last week — we should go back there tomorrow!” Yurena: “Mhm, as long as there’s no long line. I’m not waiting forever.” A few minutes later — VRROOOOOM!!! The deep, thunderous roar of a high‑performance supermotor cut through the noise. It sped past them in a blur of matte black and chrome, leaving a faint scent of fuel and rubber in the air. Althea’s eyes went huge instantly, her feet stopping on their own. Althea: “Yurena… did you hear that? And see that bike?!” Yurena: “Yeah, just some guy showing off. Let’s keep walking.” Althea: “No way! We have to go see it closer! I want to know who’s riding something that cool!” She grabbed Yurena’s wrist before she could protest. Yurena: “Ugh, come on — this is so boring! Why do you always get excited over things like this?!” Althea: “Just five minutes, I promise!” They hurried around the corner and found the motorcycle parked neatly near the entrance — sleek, expensive, and impossible to ignore. Althea immediately leaned in slightly, eyes shining as she admired every detail. Yurena just stood back, arms crossed, rolling her eyes repeatedly, clearly annoyed and unbothered. Suddenly, a shadow fell over them. A man stepped out from the shade — tall, sharp‑faced, with dark hair and eyes that held a calm, commanding edge. This was Francesco, known in the underworld as Master Nana. He leaned casually against his bike, a slow, amused smile playing on his lips as he watched Althea gawk. Francesco: “Like what you see, little one? Most people just stare from far away — you’re brave to get this close.” His voice was deep, smooth, and laced with quiet teasing. Althea looked up — and her breath caught. He wasn’t just handsome; he had that rare, dangerous kind of charm that made everyone else fade into the background. Her face flushed pink, and she could barely speak. Althea: “I… I just — it’s such a beautiful machine, sir…” Francesco chuckled softly, his gaze shifting… until it landed on Yurena. She didn’t blush. She didn’t smile. She just raised an eyebrow, arms still crossed, and let out a long, unimpressed huff. Yurena: “Can we go now? He’s just standing there, and it’s getting late.” Francesco’s smile widened — but this time, it was different. Curious. Interested. No one ever looked at him that way. Not with that much boredom, that much lack of fear or admiration. Francesco’s dark eyes lingered on Yurena for another heartbeat, like he was trying to figure her out, before he shifted his attention back to them — but with a glint in his gaze that never quite left her direction. He pushed himself off the bike, hands tucked casually into the pockets of his tailored black trousers, and spoke in that same low, velvety tone. Francesco: “Since you two appreciate fine things… how about you join my gathering tomorrow night? A small party at my penthouse downtown. Good food, good music — no boring formalities, I promise.” Althea gasped so loud it turned a few heads nearby. Her eyes practically sparkled like stars, and she bounced lightly on her heels, already clutching Yurena’s arm tightly. Althea: “R‑really?! You mean we’re invited?! Oh my gosh, Yurena — we have to go! This is such a rare chance, right?!” She turned to Francesco, grinning widely, voice bright with excitement. Althea: “Thank you so much, sir! We’ll definitely be there — won’t we, Yurena?!” Yurena only let out a long, dramatic sigh, rolling her eyes so far back it looked like they might get stuck. She crossed her arms even tighter, her expression screaming “this is the last thing I want to do”. Yurena: “Althea, are you serious? A party with a stranger we just met? Sounds like nothing but a waste of time and energy.” She looked over at Francesco, her tone calm but flat, no trace of flattery at all. Yurena: “No offense, but we’re not exactly the party‑going type. Besides, I have classes early the next day.” Francesco just laughed — a rich, warm sound that held no irritation, only more curiosity. He tilted his head, his gaze fixed solely on her now, completely ignoring the way Althea was already practically planning what to wear. Francesco: “None taken, cara. But don’t decide too fast. I’m not asking because I need guests — I’m asking because I want you there. Both of you.” He pulled out a sleek black card from his pocket, embossed with a subtle silver symbol, and held it out toward her — not pushing, just offering. Francesco: “Here’s the address and time. Come if you want… though I have a feeling you’ll change your mind once you realize saying ‘no’ to me is harder than it looks.” Yurena stared at the card like it was something unwanted, while Althea immediately reached out and took it before Yurena could refuse, clutching it to her chest like a treasure. Althea: “We will! We’ll be there, I promise! Thank you again, sir!” Yurena shot her best friend a look that said “you are impossible”, then glanced back at Francesco — and found him still watching her, that amused, knowing smile never leaving his face. Yurena (muttering under her breath): “This is going to be a long week…” A few minutes later, they said their goodbyes and walked away, Althea still gushing nonstop while Yurena dragged her feet, already regretting what just happened. SCENE: BACK TO FRANCESCO His right‑hand man and closest friend Giovanni stepped out from the shadows, watching the two girls disappear into the crowd. He crossed his arms and spoke in a low, curious tone. Giovanni: “Francesco… was that really necessary? Inviting strangers just like that? Especially that one — she didn’t even seem impressed by you or your name.” Francesco’s amused smile slowly faded, replaced by something sharper — intense, focused, and strangely drawn. He ran a finger along the sleek handlebar of his motor, his eyes still fixed on the direction Yurena had gone. Francesco: “That’s exactly why I invited them.” He turned his head, that familiar dangerous glint returning to his dark gaze. Francesco: “Every person I meet either bows in fear or throws themselves at me the moment they know who I am. But her? She looked at me like I was just some annoying stranger… like I was nothing special at all.” A low, dark chuckle escaped his lips — the kind that made even Giovanni raise an eyebrow. Francesco: “That kind of indifference? It’s rare. And it makes me want her attention more than anything else right now. Find out everything about her, Giovanni — where she studies, where she lives, who she spends time with. Leave no detail out. I don’t care how long it takes… she won’t be able to ignore me forever.” SCENE: WITH YURENA & ALTHEA They kept walking toward the bus stop, and Althea squeezed the black invitation card tightly in her hand, eyes sparkling like stars. Althea: “Did you see how handsome he is?! And his voice… and that bike! Yurena, this is like something straight out of a romance novel! We have to go!” Yurena just shook her head, rubbing her temples as if a headache was already forming. Yurena: “Althea, please. He’s not just some ordinary rich guy — didn’t you feel that heavy, cold aura around him? Danger is hiding behind that charming smile, I can feel it. I don’t trust him one bit.” Althea waved her hand, brushing off her worry easily. Althea: “You’re just being too careful! Come on, it’s just one night. If it gets boring or weird, we leave right away — okay? For me? Please?” Yurena stopped walking, stared at her best friend’s pleading face, and sighed in defeat — knowing she wouldn’t hear the end of it if she refused. Yurena: “Fine. One night only. But the second something feels off, we’re out of there immediately. Got it?” Althea: “Got it! Thank you, bestie! I promise you won’t regret it!” As they walked on, Yurena couldn’t shake the feeling that someone was watching them from far behind. And true enough — Giovanni had already sent men to follow them discreetly, while Francesco sat back with a satisfied smirk, already counting down the hours until tomorrow night. He always got what he wanted… and now, Yurena was the only thing on his mind.
