CHAPTER SIX

Kane sat shrewdly before his parents that same night. They had gone haywire when they heard he had been at the Omega building. His father had no problem with it as he usually went there as well to sleep with the Omega women whenever he felt like it. His mother knew nothing of it, and if she knew, she pretended she did not.

Luna Laura was the most pissed off. "You have to tell us why you went there? Lej had told me he wanted to talk to you about marrying his sister Mirian and making her your mate. But you are not working towards that at all. Yes, you are an Alpha. You need a strong Luna to rule alongside you, and Mirian fits perfectly into that post. " His mother stated, pacing back and forth.

His father seconded the motion, his expression stern. "You will gain nothing from going to meet Omegas. I thought you hated them. Why did you suddenly go there? "

Kane, not in the habit of explaining himself, remained mute; not even his father could challenge him in a fight. They all knew a pureblood who had no ability to control his wolf was the deadliest. Lune Laura stared at him. She was unable to figure out what was wrong, but she knew her son. He was not usually this calm. He looked almost gentle.

"And what happened there?" She asked subtly.

"Why is that any of your business, Luna?" He retorted, addressing her by title.

She stilled. "You'd address me correctly. I am your mother. You do not behave rudely to me,"she growled, but stayed within her limit. She was well aware that she had long lost his respect as his mother and had no intention of regaining it, but one day she would force him to bow the knee to her.

Kane snorted, ignoring her. He turned to his father, who was not smiling either. "I answered your call for one reason only, Father." I would like to inform you that I need a new maid. The previous one serving me died 'accidentally', as you all know. Therefore, I need a new one. " He said nonchalantly.

Your mother will handle that. "Sure, you will get one. But do not ever go to the Omega building ever again, "Alpha Jake emphasized, partly for his own reasons, not wanting to stumble into his son in the building during one of his evening sessions with his selected maids."

"I will go wherever I need to go, Father." Kane answered sharply, not liking the command. He stood up, addressing the two. "I have chosen my maid already. She shall move in with me tomorrow after school." He declared, leaving his parents staring after him as he went into his room.

Luna Laura smiled to herself. Her chance to take revenge on him had come. He was only her stepson. She had not been given the gift of childbearing. Alpha Jake had only married her due to her capability to rule with a high-handed fist.

"He had gone to the Omega building for a reason after all." He went there to pick himself an Omega toy. "Our son is a grownup after all," she said loudly so her husband could hear her, hiding her real thoughts.

Alpha Jake nodded, "He sure is. It seems this new maid has a hand in him being calm.Yet he made no mention of her being his mate which is good. Because I will kill any Omega that confuses my son to mark her as his mate. Such a union will not be accepted by the Kane Blue Blood Pack. This strong line of Alphas would not be tainted by those weak-muscled wolves. "

"Sure, I will make sure to give her a good orientation when she comes in. She will only be a maid and nothing more." Luna Laura promised, smiling sweetly as her husband left her.
