Blaze POV:
It’s a dreadful day when I have to see my family again. I hate them with every ounce of blood in my body. Why do I hate them? They are bad people, quite frankly, "Monsters". They have shipped me here thinking the strict boarding school could help with my attitude problem. Well, nothing is going to help me as I see them as the monsters they are. I know their secret. They think no one knows, but I remember everything from that day. I know what they did.
Today I am graduating from the Idaho Supernatural boarding school in Idaho City near the Boise National Forest. It’s well hidden from humans and gives education to a lot of different supernaturals, such as Fae, Mermaids, and shapeshifters, which are wolves, tigers, bears, and others. We have a few vampires and witches too. I have made friends with everyone. My witch friend Stacey and vampire friend Luke Deluca helped me understand that I was under mind compulsion and dark magic. Which I overcame in the first 6 months of coming here. Now I remember everything which is just so bad for my family if you can call them that.
I had to see her today if I wanted to survive this and not kill someone. I slipped through the gate, avoiding the night patrols and ran towards the sawtooth mountain ranges where our pack is located. The witch Stacey gave me a locket that hides my face and aura from others. No one ever notices that I am hiding in the shadows looking out for her.
Today I would lose my mind at the end of the day if I didn't make sure she was safe. So, I ran as fast as I could. It feels as if I am flying with the wind. The old growth is beautiful and scary at the same time.
Running through the tall trees and jumping from the sloping rocky cliffs, I feel free. Crossing the valley and treading the river, I finally reached the pack lands. They are a strong and powerful pack with at least 200 strong wolves. I am inching closer to the pack house, trying to locate her. I smell her before I see her. Her scent of gardenia and lilac drives Thor into a frenzy.
Finally, I see her from afar working in the vegetable garden. Weeding the unwanted plants. I just sit there and watch her. I drink her all in. She has new bruises which I hate with every fiber of my being. I want to reach out and stop all this, but I have to wait just a little longer. Even though that thought terrifies me. The thought that she wouldn’t survive much longer. Soon, soon I will take her away from here and nothing will hurt her again. Away from all the pain and misery.
The plan is in action with my beta and best friend Roy Wilde. He is my father’s or sperm donor’s beta, Henry Wilde’s son. Like me, he is nothing like his father. His world shattered when I was 10. My dad was ready to kill Ray and we both intervened. I partially shifted, almost killing my father in the process. Most wolves shift at 15. However, some late bloomers shift at 19. I shifted at 10, making Thor scary and monstrous. But to my family, he is a beast and a killing machine. They are terrified of him.
Roy really saw the truth about our family that day. We were both shipped off to the boarding school after that. After coming here, we both trained and built ourselves for the fight we knew was coming someday.
I stay hidden in the trees and see her finish one work after another. One day she won’t have to do anything ever again. I will make sure of that. I couldn’t control myself and just shifted into Thor. Getting closure to the garden where she was working, I watched her smile. I am still well hidden behind the trees, but I can see her searching for something. I smile seeing that she is smelling me and searching for my scent. I never hide my scent from her, even though it can get me in trouble. She smiles and it tugs on my heart. I don’t have much time. I needed to go back, so I begrudgingly walked away from her.
Before leaving, I left the carrot cake I got for her at the broom closet window. It’s our secret place. I always leave things here for her to find. Nobody goes into the basement except her. I can see that the pack members have left for the ceremony. So, I have to be quick and reach back to the school grounds before they realize I am missing. We cannot afford for any of them to be suspicious.
I started my long trip back to school; the sun was high in the sky. I run fast and stretch every muscle in my body. Finally, I see the familiar grounds and tall trees that make my prison and my safe haven. I don’t have to worry about somebody finding out, Roy will take care of everything.
Blake Riley, my tiger shifter alpha friend, is special. He can imitate someone completely for a short time. He will handle the teachers. Or he will mind link me if something goes horribly wrong. They made all the shifters join together in a pack link when we joined the school, so we don’t go mad and turn rogues, as most shifters are pack animals. Blake is a tiger shifter, and they usually don’t live in a pack. Their pack is called an ambush. They stay together in a small ambush. Then, suddenly one day his family vanished without a trace, and he was dropped off at school. He doesn’t know what happened. His memories are missing, and even our witch friend Stacey Bones cannot understand his situation, which means something is really wrong.
She is the one who helped Connor, Roy, and me right all the wrongs committed towards us by none other than our own family. She helped recover all our memories safely. One day she will help Ray and the mysterious girl too.
