ALIONA'S POV I clicked the door lock shut, and spun around when I bumped into someone. “Hey, watch it!” A high-pitched tone pierced into my ears, followed by the sound of books clattering onto the marble floor that snaked the length of the massive hallway. I crouched to help her gather the books together, when she glared daggers at me. I flinched. My lips parted, I was about to speak, when she added. “I bet you're missing the magic words,” Her tone seethed with a subtle disdain. Streaks of anger poured in my veins. ‘Get yourself together, Aliona. Get yourself together,’ A tiny voice in my head cautioned. My lips thinned. “Maybe if you weren't so quick to jump into conclusion, you might've heard me say it,” Silence and an unhealthy amount of tension, crackled the air between us.
