I nervously handed him the box and waited for him to open it. He gasped as he opened the box and his eyes met mine.

"It's amazing, I have no words"

I grin and hug him.

"It's so your never late to work"

He pulled out his brand new custom made silver Rolex. It was beautiful and expensive as hell. I had spent a lot of money on it but seeing his face made it all worthwhile.

He pulled me into a hug and then stood up.

"Come I have your gift outside."

He takes my hand and everyone gets up to follow me out.

Sitting at the back of the house was the most beautiful black Yamaha Mt 07. There is a pink strip on each wheel and on the gas tank my name was written in pink lettering with a small crown hanging off the M matching my jacket perfectly. small pink details throughout makes it look even better in real life.

I stand there and I cry. I cry my heart out. There was a card attached to the bike where a large pink bow sat. I pulled out the card and inside said.

"Incase you have to leave you will always be able to come home to me"

I sob uncontrollably as James chuckles at me, but I pull him into a hug and I cry my heart out into his chest. I can't bare the thought of leaving him to be with a mate. But this was perfect. After a few minutes I pull away and kiss his cheek.

"It's the best present I've ever gotten and I will treasure it forever. Thank you"

"You're welcome. Now come it's time to eat"

He wraps his arms around my shoulders and pulls me back towards the kitchen where food is ready and waiting. My stomach growled at the sight of it so I filled my plate and dug in moaning as the bacon touched my tongue.

By now the kids were running around crazy and Sarah and Emily were trying to round them up to eat outside because some alphas were coming to breakfast.

I rolled my eyes at the thought. If they can't stand the noise they shouldn't bother coming. Kids are kids, they make noise, it's what they do. But a voice I've never heard before pulls me out of my daydream. It was such a smooth velvety voice and it sent a shiver down my spine

"Don't send them outside on my account. Honestly I miss the noise since my siblings moved out of the house"

I smiled. I liked the sound of the unknown man.

"Aw don't worry I'm sure they will be in and out you will hear them plenty. Plus my siblings are here and they are not exactly quite"

The man laughed at Caden as I rolled my eyes then smiled as I watched Keagen fling a spoon across the table and hit James square in the head.

"What the f**k was that for?"

"Because I had the perfect shot"

He growled and lifted a piece of hard toast covered in jam and threw it at her head. She ducked just in time as the toast flew past her head and landed squarely between the eyes of the mystery man covering him in jam.

Everyone else went dead quiet as I roared and laughed. Caden was shaking as mum held her hand over her mouth trying not to laugh but I couldn't hold it in if I tried and I really didn't try.

Tears streamed down my face as the entire moment was made funnier by everyone including the men behind him biting their lip. One in particular grinned at me like he approved of my disrespect.

I heave trying to take air in and stop myself but I end up snorting and that's when the man beside toasty starts to laugh with Baylee and mum. I can't help but snort like a pig.

Toasty pulls the piece of toast off his face and my first thought was damn I'd love to lick that jam off him. He was as tall as caden, curly thick black hair and the most amazing bright green eyes.

He sniffs the air and his eyes dart to me. I stop laughing under his intense gaze and take a breath of air to calm down and I'm struck with the most amazing vanilla scent.

Mate,mate,mate

Harper chants in my head

No. No. No.

I stand up and he's watching me like he's a lion and I'm his damn prey. I panic and look at James who seems to catch on before anyone else. He can probably feel the panic through our twin bond. He stands up next to me.

The man clearly sees our connection and growls a ferocious growl

"MINE!"

Oh hell the f*****g no! I step back away from him and walk backwards towards the door.

"MINE!"

He repeats as Caden and Baylee look at me panicked. Probably wondering what the f**k I'm doing. But I can't deal with this. I can't be someone's mate, not yet anyway.

He takes a step towards me

"LUCA"

Luca comes in growling from outside. He stands in front of me protectively. Relief floods me as Akela and a few others join him and take a protective stance in front of me. The man takes another step towards me and the wolves snarl at him and he growls at them. They don't submit and growl louder with even more joining us.

James comes to my side and pulls on my hand as I slowly walk out of the kitchen and let more wolves pile in putting even more obstacles between us

"She is MINE! Step the f**k away from her"

He roars as James. James scoffs at him and shakes his head.

"That's her damn choice not yours. She's MY twin there is no choice in that so back the f**k OFF and let her calm down!"

He takes another step towards me and James growls back at him and ignites his hand

"IF YOU f*****g TOUCH MY SISTER WITHOUT HER PERMISSION I WILL KILL YOU ALPHA OR NOT!"

That seems to get his attention but only for a second. The wolves growl at him again

"f*****g try to kill me but I'm telling you know I don't care if I go home singed. I'm not leaving without my mate now come here before I kill every wolf in this damn house"

Baylee jumps up and growls at him. She grabs his head and bangs it off the table beside him and she holds it there.

"f*****g know your place and if you threaten Any of MY wolves again I'll kill you myself. My sister needs a minute to process this so have some f*****g manner and give it to her because I promise you I will take great pleasure in letting those wolves eat you and your men alive understand?"

Caden and my mates handsome companion sniggers at Baylee but Baylee turns to face me.

"Go. I'll keep him here so you can come back later to TALK when you calm down. He will not bother you I promise"

He growls but he's no match for my sister. She's the queen. Or the alpha of alphas and she takes no s**t. Ever. I give her a small smile and pull James outside with me. I'm shaking like a leaf but I pull the bow of my bike and look at James

"You...u em drive please"

He nods and hops on pushing forward so I can get on the back. He takes off and we head for the cabin by the lake. When we stop I get off and go straight to the closet and pull out jeans and a hoodie. I grab socks and throw on converse.

When I walk back out James watches me as I pace back and forward.

"Sis chill. Please, it's going to be ok"

"How is it? I can't leave home because I'm not ready. I'm not ready to be owned by anyone. And I'm not ready to leave you. You're my best friend and the only soulmate I will ever need. I need to run. I can't stay here, I just can't."

"You can't leave Megan"

"The bond doesn't even exist yet. I can go and he won't find me. I just can't. Tell everyone I love them but I just need time."

"Wait, you're leaving now? Where to!"

"I can't tell you. Mum will find out and come for me. I can't, I just need space, I can't be here I need to go I love you"

I pull James into a tearful hug and walk out and start my bike.

Xaviers POV

Permission to touch my mate? I don't need permission for what is mine. How dare she run from me? How dare she embarrass me like that. She will learn her lesson for treating me like this. I'll make sure of it.

"You just had to be a d**k didn't you?"

Brian growls at me, pissed for some unknown reason?

"She ran from me. It's f**k all to do with you anyway"

He storms out of the packhouse, I roll my eyes at him and go back into the kitchen, I stop freezing on the spot when alpha Caden, beta Ryan and alpha Drake are waiting for me. Caden grabs my shoulder hard and squeezes it and pushes me down on the chair.

"What the f**k was that? Your lucky Baylee didn't rip your head off and feed it to Akela!"

"I'm still debating if she should or not"

Drake practically spits at me. Oh how I would love nothing more than to punch him in the face. They were keeping me from my mate and now she would pay for it.

Burk

Play it cool. Tell them you overreacted. That you were shocked or some s**t, if you make them hate you they will keep her from us

"Look I'm sorry I overreacted, it's just a little shocking to come for breakfast and find your mate. Then she freaked and instincts took over. I'm sorry I really am"

I try to keep my voice sincere. I'm anything but sincere but burks right, I need to play this right. And it works because they all seem to relax a little, with the exception of caden who watches me carefully.

"You need to let her cool off, Megan is one of a kind, she deals differently to everyone else. If she's pissed off, instead of fighting she will get on her bike and practice for hours and when she's cooled off she will talk about it. She doesn't do screaming and fighting and she's smarter because of it. It will suit you better to give her the space she needs and then she will come around eventually"

Drake tells me. I pretend to ponder it while burk talks to me

Burk

I like the sound of that. Woman always scream so it's good we have one that won't do that

Me

True. She won't need to scream when she learns how to listen. Woman seem to run wild here instead of doing what they are told

"I understand. I won't bother her today I'll just let her come to me"

"That's all we ask. She's a good girl and she will come around but her and her brother have been through a lot and are incredibly close. You need to understand the fear they have of not living under the same roof"

Me

So this is about the brother. The faster I get her home and away from him the better.

Burk

Noo! She will not like that, let her keep the brother

Me

What need will she have for a brother

Burk

He will make her happy and then she will be good and listen

Me

So keep the brother to keep her sweet

Burk

Exactly.

"Her brother can come and go as he pleases. If it makes her happy then she can have it"

After that they all seem to relax a little including caden. He pats my shoulder and sits down and pushes a plate in front of me. I eat the food and take a sip of my coffee but after a few moments of silence I hear a bike.

I look out the back door and see it's the brother. I ignore him and go back to eating until he bursts in through the door and punches me right in the cheek.

Caden and Ryan snort and laugh as I growl and stand up holding my face

"What the f**k dude?"

I spit at him.

"That's for scaring the s**t out of my sister you f*****g halfwit! Who even reacts like that"

He swings for me again only I duck in time only to be kicked in the stomach knocking all the air out of my lungs. I growl and look him over. He's panting and pissed.

Burk

Don't hurt her brother she won't come home if you do

"I f****d up! now piss off before I do something that I really will f*****g regret doing and lose her!"

He squares up to me. His fists tight

"Enough. Leave him be. You took your shots and he didn't hit back so you need to chill"

James relaxes a little at his fathers words but lifts his finger and puts it in my face.

"Hurt her and I'll kill you. I promise you, I'll send you straight to hell"

I resist the urge to growl and Decide to piss him off instead and I stick my hand out.

"You've got yourself a deal"

He growls and slaps my hand then storms out, I shake my head then sit down and continue to eat.

Megan's POV

I take off towards the border but as I approach someone jumps out infront of me making me skid to a halt.

"What the f**k I nearly killed you!!!"

The man held his hands in the air with a panic stricken face. He was the one who grinned at me while I laughed at toasty. He was drop dead gorgeous. Even hotter then toasty

"Please just hear me out before you go please"

I growl and reav my bike with the intentions of driving him over but Harper tried to force her way out from the depth of my mind where I shoved her earlier

Harper

Just hear him the f**k out!

I groan and nod

"You have 60seconds"

I spit the words at him and he seems to relax a little. Making his eyes sparkle in the sun and they were the most mesmerising blue iv ever seen

Focus megan dammit!

"Ok I get it you woke up this morning and it's your 18th birthday and you were having breakfast with your amazing happy family and we walked into your life and that all changed in an instant. It's scary and Xavier was a d**k and that did not help matters and believe me I entend on kicking his ass later"

I smirked at that. His eyes got even brighter when I did

"Look I get it but despite him being an asshole this morning he is an amazing leader. He's fair and just and he was thrown in at the deep end when he was just 16 leaving him the sole caretaker for 4 little brothers. All who had to leave him alone and travel to Canada to be with their grandparents because it stated in the will that unless he is mated for at least 6 months that he can not have them and until that time he will have to be separated from them. So he lost everyone 3 years ago and not only has he prayed everyday for his mate for himself but also because he can get his family back. So please I beg you please just hear him out. I promise it's not a bad place where we are from and only an hour away from here. You can see your brother everyday. Damn he can come live with us if it makes you happy but other than me and now you he has nobody"

My heart fell straight out of my ass. Me sitting here crying about being mated because I can't see my brother everyday when my mate has been without his entire family for 3 years. That's torture in itself. I feel tears prick the back of my eyelids as I let it sink in and suddenly I feel like an absolute bastard for freaking out so much. I try to compose myself and I look at him making eye contact with the blond haired blue eyed boy infront of me.

Harper

Why is he so damn hot? He's not our mate.

Me

I don't know but I like this one better

"Do you want a lift back?"

I practically choke the words out. He seems to relax even more and he smiles at me. The smile makes my stomach flip and I return it

"Yes please. And I'm called Brian"

"Well Brian you make a compelling case in favour of toasty but I'm not promising anything"

He snorts at my nickname for my apparent mate.

"That's all I ask. And maybe, can you actually call him that to his face, I really wanna see what he does"

I smirk and wink at him then drive towards him and skid, letting the back of the bike skid around stopping at his feet.

"Well that was cool"

I grin and hop forward letting him take the seat behind me. Once on he doesn't hold on to me

"Dude you need to hold on"

"I am holding the back bars"

"Well I'm holding the steering wheel so if you want to survive this hold on and don't piss yourself on my new bike because I will kill you"

His heart rate spiked and he cautiously held onto my waist and when I knew he was safe I took off on my back wheels sending the front into the air. Brian screamed in shock making me chuckle and I slam the front of the bike down and take off at top speed. His heat seeps into me and I love the feel of it. It was almost distracting

I go over a small ditch that I always use in my dirt bike and we go flying into the air as Brian screams like a baby. When we hit the ground I take off again and I see dad standing out the front of the packhouse laughing. He can probably hear the boy scream from there.

I see Caden and my mate come to the front door so I decide to show them how chicken my new friend Brian is and drive straight for the steps and skid along the ground pushing the back of the bike to the bottom step and then quickly bringing the front into the air and onto the step.

I jump each step until I get to the platform in the middle then take off again driving off the steps and Landing back on the ground. I swing around and stop the bike as Brian continues to scream.

I hop off and dad and caden cackle at Brian.

"Show off"

Dad says to me through chuckles.

"Toasty I think I broke your beta. You might need a new one"

I laugh as I turn around and look at Brian who is visibly shaking trying to get off the bike.

"Can I take it for a spin sis?"

I throw the keys at caden

"You break it, you buy me a new one"

He catches them and jumps off the steps and climbs on the bike.

"Why were you holding her?"

Toasty said to my new favourite chicken. He gawks at him. And it pisses me off. I don't know why but I feel like Brian can hold me any damn time anywhere he wants to.

"f**k you toasty! You try staying on behind that crazy b.. crazy person and not hold on to her she nearly killed me for f**k sake!"

"It's b***h dude. It's not going to hurt me when it implies I'm badass. And you!"

I turn around and look him up and down and it takes everything inside me to not kick him in the sack for annoying my new friend. He might be hot. Hell he might be fuckable but he wasn't everything. But I manage to ignore his looks and be a bitch

"have no right to tell anyone who can touch me. Not yet anyway. I'll meet you in the office I need coffee"

Dad kisses my head and winks at me.

"I'll show him the way"

"I'll come with you"

Brian jumps to my side. My mate growls at him. I roll my eyes.

"Leave my new favourite chicken alone toasty I don't b***h about your friends plus I actually like him"

"Hmm not yet anyway"

Brian says under his breath. I raise me eyebrow and I look my mate up and down

"Oh is that so. This conversation just got a whole lot more interesting then hasn't it toasty"

"Can you please stop calling me that"

I snort

"No. You'll be lucky if I don't put it on your tombstone"

Brian and dad laughs

"Ohh so you will be THE ONE to arrange what will be on my tombstone"

He raised his beautiful brow and smirked at me. I had to fight the impulse to punch him in the face

"Don't get 2 excited over that fact, especially when we could be arranging for that sooner than you think if your not careful"

I cross my arms while I say it and push my hip out as his eyes light up and he tries but fails to keep the smile from his face. Harper nearly breaks our cover and purrs out loud.

Me

Seriously stop! I don't want him to think I'm desperate

Harper

You might not be, but I am. look at that face. That's a face to sit on there

I snort out loud, catching everyone's attention. I wag them off as I walk into the house in a hurry.

"Just my wolf describing to me how she would like to kill toasty is all. She's very inventive"

Harper

You big fat liar

Me

Hahahahahaha sorry but you made me blow my cover I had to say something cheeky

Brain pulls me out of my conversation as he elbows me

"We are going to be such good friends. I love how you put him in his place, it was brilliant"

"He better get used to it if he wants me around. I'm not the quiet and sit down type. Plus he seems like an asshat. He's not even that hot. I thought mates were meant to make you feel like you want to drop your knickers"

"I wouldn't know I don't have one but from what i've heard that sounds about right. So you don't feel attracted to him?"

"To him, no I don't"

I say looking him over again. He is so fine I just can't even concentrate. He smirks and raises his eyebrow at me

"Anyway, what are you doing for your birthday?"

I stop and huff

"Damn I forgot it's my birthday. I have to sit through that insufferable dinner first then we are going to the pub. You want to join?"

"If im allowed"
