(23) Welcome to the Annex

ELEAZAR SERGIO’S POV

“Saan ka pupunta, Elie?” Tanong sa akin ni dad pagkatapos ng auction.

We’re now heading outside the place to leave, but I suddenly felt the urge to use the bathroom.

“Magbabanyo lang muna ako saglit. Mauna na kayo ni Atlas, dad, susunod ako.”

“Alright, make it fast. Susundoin pa natin si Elaine.”

I nodded once as a response before turning to the left. Kaagad na nahagip ng aking mga mata ang bathroon sign kaya dumiretso kaagad ako don.

Hindi natagal ay lumabas din kaagad ako matapos kong ayusin ang aking suot na suit.

Just when I was about to turn, I bumped into someone accidentally.

“My bad,” I said and was about to walk away without looking at the person, when suddenly, she touched me.

“Mr. Montenegro.” I look back over my shoulder and saw Candice.

“Ms. Perez.” I uttered before completely facing her. “I didn’t saw you there, my apologies,” I continued.

“No, it’s fine. Ayos lang.” She then show me her smile as she stepped forward.

“Mukhang nagmamadali ka ata, Mr. Montenegro. Are you leaving too soon?” She asked, I admit Candice somehow had the etiquette of acting like a lady.

But she’s far from being like Eveion.

Isang tingin mo pa lang kasi sa kanya, alam mo na kaagad kung anong klase siyang babae. She’s easy to read and to predict.

There’s nothing interesting in her that will surely pique a man’s attention.

In short, she’s ordinary.

But of course, I’m basing by my own perspective.

Hindi ko alam pagdating kay Dave.

“Sort of, and I don’t really spend much time chatting after the party. So, I prefer leaving first.” I said, but I know Candice is not even paying attention to what I’m saying.

Tulala lang ito sa mukha ko, halatang may ibang iniisip.

“Bakit naman? Alam mo bang ang daming gustong makausap at makilala ka?” She said, keeping the distance short between the two of us when she stepped closer to me.

“I’m no celebrity, Ms. Perez. I’m just an ordinary guy.”

Candice chuckled with my response until she finally reached at the hem of my collar.

I eyebrow almost made a twitch motion when she touched me near my neck.

“Ordinary guy? Being a Montenegro is not ordinary.” Tumingala ito sa akin dahilan upang magtama ang tingin naming dalawa.

“Tsaka isa pa, Candice na lang ang itawag mo sa akin.” She continued. Hindi na ako nakatiis sa distansya naming dalawa kaya hinawakan ko ang magkabilang braso nito.

I heard her gasped a little when I held her and pushed away.

You’re too goddamn close, woman.

Nakita ko kung paano siya napatingin sa kamay kong nakahawak sa kanyang braso kaya kaagad kong binawi ang aking kamay mula sa kanya.

“Alright, Candice. It was nice meeting you again but I have to go now.”

Tumalikod na ako ngunit muli rin akong natigilan nang may humawak sa aking braso.

Candice caught my arm which made me stopped and look back at her again. I was about to say something when she uttered first

“Bago ka umalis, may itatanong muna ako sa’yo.”

Inayos niya ang kanyang postura pagkatapos atsaka ako deretsong tinignan sa mata bago muling nagsalita.

“Mr. Montenegro, if you don’t mind me asking… do you find me attractive?” She asked boldly using her seductive voice.

“I would rather not answer that question, Candice.”

“Bakit naman?” Nakangiti na niyang tanong sa akin.

It was a playful smile to be exact.

“Takot ka ba?” Aniya pa. Candice pointed out her index finger and traced something against my chest.

She’s being touchy all of a sudden.

Nasan na ba si Dave? Bakit niya hinahayaang makawala sa gapos ang babaeng ‘to?

“Why would I be afraid with just a mere question?” Her smile grew even wider. Totally enjoying the sound of my deep masculine voice that lingers into her ear.

“Kung ganon, sagutin mo ‘ko… do you find me attractive, Mr. Montenegro?” Pag-uulit niya sa kanyang tanong.

I look down at her for awhile while thinking of something else.

Something interesting to do.

Naalala ko ang sinabi ni Eveion sa akin tungkol sa pagsama niya kay Dave sa mismong gabi ng kanyang kaarawan.

“It’s just all an act.”

An act…

Hmm, somehow I wanted to do something like that as well.

Paano kung makipaglaro din ako sa kanya ngayon, tulad ng ginagawa ni Eveion kay Dave? Why won’t I play with this woman’s mind and emotions to entertain myself?

That would be exciting.

My angel playing with that goddamn bastard and then me playing with this b*tch.

I laughed at the back of my mind.

Mukhang maganda ‘to…

Perhaps in this way, I could do something worst when the right time comes. A game that will probably make my sinful duty more exciting and enjoyable.

Gusto ko ‘to.

I love playing people’s mind and emotions, I find it fascinating— especially when that person deserves to be played with.

“If I say ‘yes’, will there be a consequence of my words?” I asked which made her feel excited and more interested in me.

I did it so effortlessly.

Kung sa bagay, ang dali lang naman talaga makuha ng isang babaeng katulad niya.

She’s an easy one.

She smirked at me and suddenly slides her hand inside my suit. Naramdaman ko ang pagkapa ng kanyang kamay sa bulsa ng aking suot atsak niya kinuha ang cellphone ko.

She raised one of her eyebrows at me before typing on my phone screen.

Biglang tumunog ang cellphone niya sa loob ng kanyang dalang purse.

She then handed me back my phone.

“Save it… just in case.” She said before smiling at me. She dialed her own number.

Her eyes are trying to seduce me right now.

Nakita ko kung paano niya inilapat ang kanyang mga daliri sa kanyang labi astaka ito hinalikan. She imprinted her own hands with a kissmark before puting it against the collar of my suit.

Kinindatan niya ako pagkatapos bago ako tuluyang tinalikuran atsaka umalis.

What a shame, she probably thought that she got me too easy.

“Tsk… tsk… tsk… I can’t believe you chose a woman like her over Eveion, Dave Falcon. What a shame.” I whispered under my breath before I left and head back to where I can find my father.

“What took you so long?” Dad asked with a crease on his forehead.

“Nothing. Someone just suddenly imprinted their lips on my collar,” I said which and him look at my collar.

Nasa loob na kami ng sasakyan ngayon si Atlas.

“Like a goddamn animal.” I continued as I started to remove my suit.

“Anong ginagawa mo?” Tanong ni Atlas nang makita niyang isa-isa kong tinatanggal ang butones ng akong suot na panloob.

Hindi ako nagsalita atsaka ito pasimpleng hinubad at muling sinuot ang kulay itim na blazer. Kaya ang kinalabasan nito ay wala akong panloob at tanging itim na blazer na lang ang suot ko.

I opened the car window while we’re in the middle of the road and tossed my shirt over a bridge on top of a flowing river.

“Did you just… throw your clothes, Eleazar?” Hindi makapaniwalang saad ni dad matapos makita ang ginawa ko.

Atlas on the other hand looked at me in disbelief after my sudden behavior.

“Yep, I did. Madumi na ‘yon dad, kaya dapat lang na itapon.” Pasimple kong wika dahilan upang mapailing ito.

Atlas just suddenly laughed at his position as we head back to the mansion.

“KUYA! Are you sure you want to live sa annex? I heard a lot creepy things na nangyayari doon. You’ll be living there alone!”

Elaine kept on following my pace as I packed my bag here inside my room.

“Get out, Elaine, I’m trying to pack my things peacefully. Wala kang ibang ginawa kundi ang mang distorbo.”

“But kuya! Totoo ang sinasabi ko.”

“Out.”

“Kuya Elie, why won’t you listen to me ba? Have you not realized that sometimes, okay din na makinig sa bunso?”

Hindi ko na ito kinibo pa at tuluyan ng tinapos ang aking ginagawa.

Everything is all set.

Nakausap na ni dad si mom tungkol dito, at napakiusapan na rin ni mom ang chairman. Tulad ng inaasahan ni dad, pumayag din si lolo nang si mom na ang nagpaaalam para sa akin.

“Elie, kung may kailangan ka anak, wag kang magdadalawang-isip na tumawag sa akin. I’ll drive to you right away,” she said as she combed my hair using her fingers.

“Thanks mom. I will, don’t worry.” She smiled at me before pulling me for a hug.

May lakad siya kasama si dad, mukhang may pupuntahan na namang event.

“The necklace looks good on you.” Kaagad niayang kinapa ang kanyang leeg atsaka awtomatikong napangiti sa aking sinabi.

“Thank you! Your dad bought this for me. Nagulat na lang ako nang bigyan niya ako ng ganito.”

I won’t tell her that dad bought that during the auction night kung saan hindi sila nakasamang dalawa ni Elaine.

It was just a brief auction so it’s best that it was just the three of us.

Hind naglaon ay tuluyan na akong umalis ng mansyon dala ang mga gamit ko at sasakyan.

I will still be back during weekends here, so its fine.

“MONTENEGRO.”

The guard checked my driver’s license when I got stopped at the guard house. Nang makumpirma niya ang identity ko, kaagad niya akong pinapasok sa loob.

“Welcome po, sir,” wika nong guwardiya atsaka ako hinayaang makapasok sa loob.

I drove my car toward the annex but before I could even reach to the Montenegro Street, I stopped my car outside the Blanco Street.

I lowered down my passenger’s seat window and removed my sunglasses.

Pinagmasdan ko ang halatang lumang mansyon na nasa aking harapan.

It was indeed old and empty.

Masyado ng malaki ang kahoy na nasa loob ng mansyon. The vines are almost covering the wall fence and the gate, an evident that this place have no maintenance at all.

Muli kong inangat ang bintana bago tuluyang umalis sa tapat ng mansyon atsaka pumasok sa loob ng annex. I parked my car and walk around the amnex to make myself familiar with the place.

I hardly even remember that this place actually existed.

Ang tagal na mula nong huli kong pagbisita rito.

“Young lord, the master’s bedroom is ready.” Sinundan ko ang isang maid nang igiya niya sa kwarto.

Nang makapasok na ako sa loob, una kong napansin ay ang malaking bintana na nakabukas.

I stare at it for a while and noticed something…

I scoffed.

“Seems like, I can have a good view at the Blanco’s mansion.” Wika ko sa aking sarili bago inilapat ang aking braso malaking bintana.

Mula sa pwesto ko, kitang-kita ko ang mansyon ng mga Blanco.
