TWENTY-THREEDELTA 200 AIRSTRIP—WHERE we were headed now—was a remote location about thirty miles north of Cape Town International Airport. They specialized here in taking tourists up for skydives. It was straddled between two nature reserves and was close to the coast, not more than two miles. The perfect place to go skydiving in the Cape, in fact. Around 01h30 we made the approach from the north. Mostly the weather played along all the way from Johannesburg, with just a few angry clouds while passing over some mountains in the interior. From this side the entire city was lit up in the distance—as was the coastline, with little towns and villages dotting the coast all the way around the tip of Africa. Our pilot made a perfect approach into the night, like he had been doing night flights
