My body felt sore the next morning, but it wasn't something to ruin my day. Last night, I surrendered everything and decided to start anew with Kenzo.
He had to leave early because his sister might look for him, and I did not want any trouble for him. We promised to see each other again later this afternoon, after school.
We talked about hanging out, so I guess I had already made my choice last night, which was to stick with Kenzo and take the risk. After all, loving comes with pain, and I am very susceptible to pain by now.
I walked to my bathroom and happily took a bath. When I was done, I dressed up in my uniform. It hugged my figure nicely.
I ran my comb through my hair one last time after I put on my make-up and sprayed perfume on my wrist, rubbing gently all over me. I fixed my uniform before I headed downstairs, carrying my bag on my left arm.
Just before I reached the living room, my phone vibrated. It was Kenzo sending me a picture of himself getting ready for school. He looked good in anything he wore.
I sent him a heart emoji in response, which he sent me back. I smiled and put my phone away before walking into the kitchen and making a quick breakfast, then driving to school.
The weather looked great. I breathed in the freshness of the morning as I parked near the entrance, grabbed my bag, and got out of the car.
"Good morning!" I greeted my students happily.
"Teacher, how are you feeling this morning?" one of my students asked, doing sign language with her hands.
"I am fine, my babies. The teacher will be back, starting today." I signed back at her, and I saw their faces light up.
"Miss Stella." Miss Lina said as she stood at the door, looking at me. I know she came to check on me.
I smiled back at her, and immediately, she knew I'd made it once again.
"Welcome back." She nodded.
I smiled and hugged her. She patted me affectionately on the back. "It feels good to be back."
"I always knew you were strong enough to come back whenever you fell." She leaned in to kiss me on my cheeks before waving her goodbye.
Miss Lina has had my back since I started teaching at this school. And I could say that she made my life meaningful and brighter.
On break, I decided to turn my social media accounts back on. As expected, messages flooded in from different people asking what happened to me.
"I tried to breathe for a while. I was lost for some time." I responded shortly to all their queries and hurriedly contacted my happy pill.
"Hey," his voice sounded so gentle—and sexy, of course.
"Hi baby," I chuckled.
"Finally."
"Thanks to you." I smiled as the memories from last night heated my cheeks.
"So, where are we going later?" he asked.
"Anywhere you like. As long as you are with me, I'll be fine wherever we go."
The whole day went on; I could say it was better and lighter this time.
"See you tomorrow, my loves!" I bade them goodbye and even tagged along in the corridor as we headed out.
I waved to them before walking to the parking lot, then entered my car and changed into casual clothing.
I texted Kenzo that I was on my way to our meeting place, and just a few meters away, I saw him. He was wearing a black hoodie and jeans. His hair was messy, and he looked tired.
"Hey," he greeted me with a smile.
"Hey," I replied. "How was your day?"
"It was okay. Just school." He grabbed me and gave me a peck on the lips before pulling away quickly.
I blushed at his gesture. After a silent moment, he pulled me close and whispered, "Let's go."
The interior of the restaurant is simply intricate. Its ambiance was calm and cozy. The lights were low, only illuminating a few tables here and there.
Kenzo and I sat down across from each other and ordered drinks.
"This place is nice." I smiled, still scanning the area.
People seemed to be having a great time.
Beside the bar, rows of billiard tables were placed with people playing the game. A large TV played behind the bar. Many people were eating, drinking, and having a great time.
"Thank you," he smiled. Then he added, "Did your class have fun?"
"Yes, it was great; they really enjoyed the class."
"That's good then," he grinned.
"What did you do today?" I asked.
"Nothing much. I just hung out with some friends."
"Okay, well, I'm glad you had fun." I smiled.
On the opposite wall, a dance floor with a band playing.
The waiter returned and placed the drinks on our table, then left us alone.
I sipped my drink, staring ahead. My eyes wandered around the space until they landed back on the man next to me, who was smiling at me, and I couldn't help but smile back.
"You're beautiful." He spoke softly.
"Thank you," I replied.
"I'm glad you're here." He said, taking my hand in his.
"Me too." I squeezed his hand.
"I love you." He said this, leaning closer to me.
"I love you too," I responded.
"Do you want to dance?" he asked as he released my hand.
"Yeah, sure, but don't expect so much from me," I answered, giggling at the thought of my scarce hidden talent.
And so I followed him to the dance floor.
We danced for a while, holding each other's hands. We swayed gently to the music, slowly swaying to the rhythm.
I rested my head against his shoulder, closing my eyes and inhaling his scent.
His chest brushed against mine, sending warm vibrations through my spine and making me feel alive.
The song changed into an upbeat song. "I like this song," I remarked.
He hummed in agreement. "It fits us right?" he murmured in my ear.
I turned to face him. "Perfectly," I replied.
