Fifteen minutes had passed since midnight, and I was still out in the streets, curled up on a dusty, old bench, drenched and probably about to pass out any moment.
“Thiff?“
I heard a mumble and tried to peer up.
“Dein?“
My face lit up, and I immediately got up and ran to him. I rushed to him and gave him a tight hug.
“What happened to you?" he asked concernedly while trying to warm my body up.
“I…I need…to…talk to…you.“ I quivered badly.
“Yes, yes. We'll talk. Let me take you somewhere to get you changed. You might get sick.“ He covered me with his jacket and guided me into his car.
We went to his place, and he took care of me.
“Here's a hot coffee. You reek of alcohol. Also to warm you up.“
“Thank you.“
Dein sat down on the couch in front of me. "So, what is it that you want to talk to me about since you stayed outside for so long? It must be so important.“ He asked calmly, crossing his arms over his chest.
“Ah, about that. Mom and Dad just gave us the blessing of our marriage.“ I awkwardly responded, holding the cup tightly between my palms.
“Ow!“
“Funny, right?“
“Yeah! But it could have been great if they had not been late.“
“Can't…can't…can't we still make it?“
I saw him twitching. "Thiff."
“Do you already love her," I managed to ask him, desperate for his answer.
“Thiff. I told you, I was just being good to her for the sake of the child.“
“Then be with me again.“
“Thiff, come on. You're not helping. You betrayed me, remember?“
“We both betrayed each other. And this situation does occur within relationships. Others don't give up; they fix it.“ My hand started feeling numb.
Why did things have to end up here?
He looked away and raked his hair in total dismay. He stood up and paced back and forth. 'I can't give Hina any more stress.“
What a lame reason!
“Is that it?“ I scoffed, holding back my tears.
“She could lose the baby if she suffers more stress.“
“Well then,” I took a deep, short breath. “I am pregnant.“
There.
He fell into total silence and total shock.
Exactly. Imagine my state just hours ago after finding out I'm pregnant, and what was worse, I had no idea who the father is?
My lips quivered in disappointment for myself that I had to end up in such a pathetic situation.
But I couldn't imagine raising another one without a father. How painful would it be for Mom and Dad again?
“Are you serious?“
“I wish it was just a joke. But, yeah. This is serious.“ I looked down with all the pain in my eyes.
“This is a nightmare!“ He exclaimed breathlessly, his eyes shutting frustratingly.
“What?“ I flinched. “A nightmare?“ I felt offended and outrageous.
“Hina would be...”
“F-ck it, Dein. HINAA! HINA!!! HINA!!! F-ck her!“ I wailed in so much anger. “OH GAD! WHY IS IT ALWAYS ABOUT HER! FOR ONCE, DEIN, CHOOSE ME! CHOOSE US!!!!“ I yelled in so much frustration. I felt my heart beating in my ear as the veins in my neck tensed.
I broke down.
“Shut up, Thiff! Don't you dare curse on her? “
“NO! YOU SHUT UP! And oh, I dare. That shitty weakling, mental girl.“
“Stop Thiff. Don't you speak ill of her? “
“This is bullsh-t!“ I wiped my tears harshly off my cheeks. “You say you're staying with Hina because of the child? So, stay with me.“ I belched out in frustration.
He fell silent!
“Oh, now you can't answer!“
“No.“ He said it almost in a whisper.
“What?“
“No, I won't be with you!“
This is…wow! I inhaled, and my lips dropped low.
I lost again!
“Why?“ I asked in my lowest voice.
“I'm not even sure that's mine!“
My knees felt weak; I just dropped down, cold, on the floor. The coffee spilled, and the cup broke. My hand got cut and started bleeding.
He was right; even I was not sure, but what tore me was that I thought he would be accepting given the fact he once made me feel he loved me.
“You're bleeding!“ he rushed towards me.
“Let it go! It's not even painful compared to what I have been through.“ I stood up and smiled bitterly. “I'm leaving!“
“Wait! How about the…”
“This is enough!“ I started walking away, and my shoulders dropped.
“So, you too are not sure?“ He bluffed with a hint of insult in his voice.
I halted and felt infuriated. I turned to him sharply.
“Seriously?“
“You could just tell me that you are just hoping that I would take it immediately, just like Vri!“
“You are…unbelievable.“
“Come on, let's just be honest. You are hoping to have me as a cover for another shameful downfall. Why? Your kid can't man up?“
“Shut up!“ I gritted my teeth and clenched my fists.
“Now you know how it feels? But sorry, I couldn't be in your silly games.“
“How about this, Dein? How could you be so sure that Hina's carrying yours?“
This is too much for me. I couldn't really think properly now.
“Unlike you, Hina is a decent girl.“ He said that without a slight look of shame.
I stormed back and pounced on him.
“YOU ARE THE WORST PERSON I HAVE EVER KNOWN!“ I kept punching him and slapping him.
“STOP IT THIFFEY!“
“NO! You deserve this!“ You f-ckin used me!“ I yelled at him.
He was able to catch my arms and stop me.
But I stood up and started grabbing and throwing anything.
“You are crazy!“ he yelled, horrified at me.
“Let me introduce another side of Thiffey! I am not a f-ckin saint just because I loved you and I am compromising for our child!“ I said that before throwing one of his antiques. “Oh, sorry! My hand slipped!“
I ran to the kitchen and started messing around there.
“Come on, Thiff! Calm down!“
“Calm down? Oh, are those even words?“
I threw out cups, glasses, plates, and mostly anything that could break.
The pans went flying. It is a flying saucer.
I saw a cup with a word written in bold, capitalized letters: "HI DAD'.
I smirked and grabbed it.
“NO! NOT THAT ONE!“
“Oh why?“ I smiled bitterly, turning my gaze to him as my tears kept flowing out of my eyes.
“Look, I just don't want Hina to get stressed out!“
“Really? Well, I don't freaking care! Let's all be in hell!" I shouted and threw the cup outside as hard as I could.
I heaved deeply, panting tiredly.
“I guess that's it! Bye!“
I left him standing, frozen, in the corner of the kitchen.
I stormed my way out, but he spoke again.
“Let's say, that's mine! Will you leave that kid?“
He got me there.
Leave Kenzo?
“You can't, right?“ For a moment, it's as if he's sad.
“What if I can?“ I challenged him, and he was dumbfounded.
Ha!
“You're bluffing.“ He scoffed.
“Yeah right! Just message me how much damage I caused in total.“
I snapped at him and walked out to his house.
He doesn't deserve this child even a bit. Gladly I raised Vri alone.
“Wait Thiff.“ He came after me.
“What?“ I asked bluntly.
“Please, don't let Hina know anything about this.“
“I'll think about that.“ I smirked.
Then his eyes looked shocked when his phone started ringing.
“Please?“ he pleaded; he looked so pathetic.
“You would really stoop low for her!“
“Just please!“
“I'm leaving!“ I ignored him. I'm sick of him repeating and repeating how he chose Hina over me.
“ABORT IT!“
I felt my ears ringing. I felt my whole body stiffen. A hot rush crept through my body. And everything went dark.
