The leaves of the trees rustled in the gentle breeze, creating a soothing symphony of nature's music. Their vibrant hues of red, orange, and gold painted a picturesque scene as if the entire school were ablaze with autumn's fiery beauty. The fallen leaves covered the ground, forming a crunchy carpet beneath my feet, inviting me to take a stroll and immerse myself in the magic of the season. What I would consider not just a stroll but a good stay.
We were leaving for Japan today to settle my mess at GRIVA, and I was not heartbroken about it because Kate had made her testaments, but I had decided to cut ties with them. I am starting a new life. I had decided to live in Turkey with Vri and Narih; of course, Tim had to come. He was very in love with Narih. My parents decided to stay. I put the building on sale, and we were all set to go. I just had to make a quick stop for my students and Nai.
With each step, I couldn't help but feel a sense of tranquility and gratitude for the fleeting moments of nature's splendor, as it somehow eased my burdened mind. The gentle rustling of leaves and the whispers of the wind reminded me that there is beauty in letting go and embracing new beginnings.
"Knock! Knock!" I peeked at the door of my classroom, where I spent almost four years of my life teaching, smiling at my students. I am not sure if I am ready to leave. As I gazed at their eager faces, a wave of nostalgia washed over me, reminding me of the countless memories we had created together. Leaving these cherished connections behind made me feel a bittersweet goodbye.
They all stood up from their chairs and rushed to hug me, each one expressing their gratitude and love. Their warm embraces brought tears to my eyes as I realized the impact I had made on their lives. At that moment, I understood that letting go doesn't mean forgetting, but rather cherishing the memories and embracing the new chapter that awaits.
They pulled me in, and I was surprised with a cake and a simple bouquet. Behind me was Nai, who was carrying two huge bouquets of my two favorite foods. "I know..." She barely kept up with her words as she cried helplessly as if she were the one leaving. "Ah, I can't! I can't believe you are leaving us, nor will I be able to see myself missing you every day!"
"Oh, come on! I already asked you to come, but you would not leave them, so stop acting as if you would die without me!" I playfully teased Nai, trying to lighten the mood.
"Yeah, I was the one wrong here! Let's just eat! I know I am making the greatest sacrifice someone could ever make! It is wise for a good teacher like me to replace a good teacher like you," she said, sounding unsure while instructing the kids to line up the tables for a small feast. As we sat down to eat, I couldn't help but feel a mix of sadness and gratitude for the opportunity to have such a dedicated friend like Nai in my life.
"Can I join in?" the principal asked at the door. of the classroom, a warm smile on his face. Nai looked surprised but quickly nodded, welcoming him to join our small feast. The principal's presence added an unexpected touch of joy and camaraderie to the meal, reminding me of the supportive community we had built at this school.
As my time passed by so fast, I could no longer muster the courage to say goodbye to them. "Hey, it's time," Nai whispered as we stood outside the school gates, tears welling in our eyes.
The principal, who had become more than just a figure of authority, approached us with a comforting pat on the back. "Remember, you're always welcome here," she said reassuringly. With a heavy heart, I waved goodbye to my students, knowing that I would forever cherish the memories we made and the friendships we formed.
"I need to hear your names in magazines, on the internet, and everywhere," I told them, my voice filled with pride. "Promise me you'll chase your dreams and make a name for yourselves. Soar high!"
They nodded, their determination shining through their tear-streaked faces. As we finally parted ways, I couldn't help but feel a mix of sadness and excitement for the bright futures that awaited all of us.
I hopped in my car and drove to the airport. I asked Karen never to mention it to Kenzo, or it would be so hard for me to leave. I knew that saying goodbye would be difficult enough, and I didn't want to burden Kenzo with the weight of my departure.
I could not help but let my tears flow freely as I drove further away to the airport. The memories of laughter and camaraderie flooded my mind, and I couldn't help but feel a pang of nostalgia for the memories I had shared with Kenzo. The thought of leaving behind our inside jokes, adventures, and late-night conversations made my heart ache. However, I knew that this was a necessary step for my personal growth and exploration. As I reached the airport, I took a deep breath, wiped away my tears, and reminded myself that sometimes goodbyes are just temporary, and the memories we made will always hold a special place in my heart.
"What took you so long? Our flight is about to board," Narih said, approaching me hastily, her voice filled with both impatience and concern. I smiled through my tears, grateful for her supportive presence.
"I needed a moment to say goodbye," I replied, my voice trembling slightly.
"Don't tell me," she paused, looking at me in sympathy, "You'll be fine. When the time is right, if I have to turn the world to find Kenzo for you, I will," Narih said, and I nodded, unable to find the words to express the mix of emotions inside me.
Narih reached out and gave me a comforting squeeze on the shoulder, linking her arm with mine as we walked towards the gate. "And you know what? The world is vast; it has a lot to offer!"
"Shut up! It's only Kenzo!" I exclaimed, feeling a surge of frustration. "But thank you, Narih. Your support means everything to me."
As I stepped onto the airplane, my mouth fell open to see Vri, Mom, and Dad.
"What? I thought..." I thought you guys couldn't make it," I stammered, my voice filled with a mix of surprise and joy. "I can't believe you're here! "My eyes welled up with tears as I hugged them tightly, overwhelmed by their unexpected presence.
"Well, we cannot live without my dear granddaughter, and besides, I want to experience snow, and when your friend Tim told us that he would gladly give us a free ride when he accompanies his princess via private plane, who are we to refuse?" Mom explained while Vri was already asleep soundly on her shoulder.
"We will be by your side, all the way, Ne." Dad smiled, and I felt a wave of gratitude wash over me.
"Ok, enough with all that! Let's all be seated and enjoy the flight," Tim said, gesturing towards the plush seats in the private plane. "We have a smooth journey ahead of us."
"SEE YOU SOON, Japan!" Narih shouted excitedly as the plane began to take off. The anticipation of exploring a new country filled the air, and I couldn't help but feel a mix of nervousness and excitement.
