JOB HUNT [I]
Townsville.
April 16, 2019,
11:00am.
Vroom!
A black sports car parks outside a beautiful mansion. Fenced with hard walls and a black gate. The doors to the side of the sports car open up. Two individuals stepped out of it, one was dressed in black jeans. Topped with a blue T-shirt with a black jacket on top alongside a pair of white sneakers. His red irises made contact with the gates first before glancing around. He looked like a foreigner because he wasn't familiar with the location he was in.
The other one appeared a bit aged. Probably in his forties or fifties. Dressed in a fine blue tuxedo. He had gray hair. He had sunglasses on. He removes his keys and places them in his pocket. Appearing to be a pure American.
The boot opens up. The red-eyed youth appeared standing there, taking out his luggage one by one. After he placed about five of them out, he proceeds to take them inside.

“He will be staying with us for some time, then he will leave. So don't worry about anything ”.
“But dad... who is he?”
“...my nephew ”.
“You never told me you had one”.
“Somethings are just meant to be kept secret... don't be offended daughter ”.
“No no... it's okay, it is also your house, so you can do whatever you want. I'm just worried because my friends are coming over tonight and if they see him”. Hoof! “...they might spread false rumors about me and him”.
The old man chuckles , caressing his daughter's cheek. She was a blonde one, with white hair and two peculiar green eyeballs. Her lips appeared soft and even her ears were occupied with dangling earrings. She had shorts on with a plain yellow singlet on, despite her physique as a standard athlete; she owned two apples that were very noticeable.
“No one is going to say that...”
“And how do you know that?”, Her British accent swaying perfectly.
“Well first... you are my daughter, and daughters of the Klein family ain't that easily brought down. Besides, if your boyfriend... believes them instead of you, then he doesn't trust you. But if he does---”
Slightly lowering her head. “---He won't trust them”.
“You're just getting yourself worked up for nothing.”
“I guess... ”, she heaved a deep sigh when she saw the youth her dad brought with him loading his belongings upstairs in the guest room.
‘I hope tonight works out perfectly. If it flops, then I am so in trouble. A lot of things can happen if I don't put the situation under my control’.
“Jessica...”
‘I'll have to see to it that this function works out!’
“Jessica!!”
“Wait what?!”, the girl named Jessica exclaimed on hearing her name being suddenly called.
“Lost in thoughts again, huh? I just want to inform you that I might be home late. Probably throughout the week”.
“Don't tell me you are gonna leave---”, her eyes caught the youth. Heading out of the mansion, “Dad, he left ”.
“No... he has more stuff to bring in”.
Her brow rose immediately. “You sound like he's really gonna stay here. C’mon dad!”
The old man took his daughter's hands and gazed at her green eyeballs with so much comfort. “Are you scared of losing your boyfriend? Your reputation in your school? or the fact that you still remember Todd Hamilton”.
“Dad... let's skip this. I am not in the mood right now”. She retorted, walking out on him, heading upstairs immediately. Her father nodded and headed out.

The youth -‘ Todd Hamilton ’- took his cross bag from the boot and shut the boots close. The old man majestically walked to him. Adjusting his suite.
“Get in”. a voice shot at him. It was Calvins’.
“Huh?”
“Just get in...we'll talk on the way”. Calvin hopped into his sports car and kick started the engines. Todd quickly got in without a second thought.

Luminos’ Restaurant.
11:40am.
Shortly after, Calvins and Todd arrive. They settled down and were served some cold juice.
“ She and I share no bond, Uncle Calvin... come on”. Todd defended himself. Seems they have been catching up while they were here.
Calvin chuckles and takes another sip of his juice. “Oh really”.
“We were only nine back then, uncle... we didn't know anything”.
“But you both did something, didn't you?”
Todd grumbles, then; “Am sure you brought me here for something else, Uncle. You didn't just bring me out here just to tease me”
“True, And if you want us to talk business, then ...I want you to try and get a job. We are very very different people. It is not your mom who gave you all the life she had before she... died”. Calvin heaved a deep sigh, his mood changed quickly. “All I am trying to say is... you gotta start thinking outside of the box here. This is Townsville, you got to do what you can do or starve like those helpless beggars on the roadside”.
“Uncle... now that you talked about it. I will find a job but it is not gonna be that easy...”
“That depends on you entirely, boy... nothing is hard to attain if you are serious about it”.
Todd hummed. “Where do I start from..?”
“Don't tell me you don't have any special skills now”.
“Special skills, er... am not sure... perhaps baking ”.
Calvin smiled. “It is very very common”. He stopped hitting the table. “...pick something that is more unique”.
“Don't know anything else, uncle. I have barely finished school, Uncle. I'm super outdated right now”.
“Alright... I will give you 24 hours to get a reasonable job”.
Todd grunted. “ Would you like to extend the time frame... 24hours ain't gonna be enough for me.”
Old Calvin made a chuckle and became serious immediately. “Am not joking son... get a job or don't come back”. He stands up fixed on his black glasses.
“Wait... please tell me you are joking?”
“Waiter!”. Calvin called out, taking out a dollar bill from his wallet.
“....Ahem!”, Todd cleared his throat as the waiter arrives to collect the bill, departing from there while Calvin leaves the restaurant without Todd. It seemed he was really serious.
“Ohhh... crap where am I gonna get a nob now”.
