My Annabel

It was on a hot noon day that Annabel left her home in anger never to return again. Not minding her strength, services and all the sacrifices rendered previously, she made one of the toughest decisions to disappear in the eyes of everyone around her. It was an awful experience back at home and the 17 years old girl is frustrated and tired. A young pretty sweet girl in her teens decided to find solace outside her home. Her light coloured complexion keeps glittering as if it was in a competition with the sun, and there was no atom of melanin in her body. Her petite look makes her outstanding as she always present like a twelve years old girl with a baby face. Despite all these qualities her elegance is still unbeatable. Brave and bold genius and a perfectionist that life has refused to show the fair part. Feeling like she has gone very far away from the house, Annabel decided to speak to someone. Good morning ma she greeted, fine morning little girl the young lady Annabel greeted replied, underestimating her age. How may I help you, she added? Annabel didn't mind and she answered ma please , is there anything you would like me to do for you? I can do any job. The lady raises her eyebrows to form an arch and her eyes wide open in a furry, you little girl what do you think you can do for me? Has your school been dismissed? Where are your parents? Too many questions to be answered at once and Annabel who has not even eaten anything for the day cannot provide all the answers the woman needed. In a shaky voice Annabel started talking, ma I have no home and no parents. I managed to finish my basic education with the help of Mr Richard and his wife who have been my physical parents. Not until Mrs Richard gave birth and everything changed. I came to realize that their initial care was due to their childlessness. At this point her tears cannot be held back any longer as she sobs deeply. It's alright dear what's your name? Mrs Brown cuts in, not allowing her to say any more words. My name is Annabel, she answered. That's a pretty name, Annabel. It's almost time to go home, do you mind going to my house with me? Yes I will, Annabel answered without hesitation. Mrs Brown walked down to the car park giant sss plaza while Annabel followed her religiously. Mrs Brown halted when she got to the most astonishing car in the park, a Mercedes Benz GLE 450 and pressed the door open and ordered Annabel who was still admiring the car to get in while she drove swiftly out of the park to her home. En route, Mrs Brown did not bother Annabel with more questions as she felt the little girl is already exhausted. On the other hand Annabel who has no other choice but let her fate be determined by the young woman who is rendering her help couldn't even ask any question at all, so the drove home is absolute silent. Mr Brown, who was already home and wondering what's keeping her newly married wife at work, was sitting in his living room watching one of his favorite TV shows when the doorbell rang and he went to get the door open. Hello honey what kept you so long at work today? asked mr Brown, I'm so sorry baby something came up that I have to attend to his wife explained while embarrassing him with a hug. Good evening Annabel who stood still watching the cute couple greeted him, good evening how are you? I'm fine Sir Annabel answered. Sweetheart who did you came back with? Mr Brown asked his wife. Baby I'm sorry she is here already, I couldn't get to speak with you before bringing her home, her name is Annabel. She will be staying with us for now as our house help. Okay.. it's fine her husband replied. Mr Brown is young, wealthy and very handsome man who recently got married to his better half Mrs Brown Claire. They have known each other for about 5 years and got married few months ago. They met themselves during their university days and been that both families are doing so well, it was easy to get their children a well paying job after their NYSC service. Getting married to each other was something every member of the family was so eager to witness because it was as if one cannot survive without the other during their school days. Now they're happily married and living the most comfortable life they can think for themselves. Annabel was shown her room by Mrs Brown to freshen up and come downstairs for dinner while she quickly went to the kitchen to get something ready for the family. Annabel in her deepest thoughts cannot handle everything coming to her mind at once, first she found herself in a young couple's home which was almost like where she was coming from, obviously they're looking like they are nice people but will they change their attitude towards her when they starts having children? her thoughts was troubled as she went on to take her bathe and change into another wear given to her by Mrs Brown. Finally she decided to rest every thoughts coming to her mind, while she went for dinner . Annabel I was about to come get you because food is ready, Mrs Brown said with a contagious smile on her face. I'm here already ma Annabel said with a soft voice returning the smile. While they were still eating , Mr Brown asked Annabel where are you from? Annabel who was stunned and didn't see the question coming was still hesitating to say a word when the wife cuts in, eeehhmm sweetheart why don't you eat your food so we can continue with the discussion later? Alright that's fine Mr Brown replied. Annabel, who doesn't have an answer to the question and doesn't know if more is coming her way to answer couldn't even concentrate on the food any longer, she managed to eat a little more before bidding goodnight to the couple. Goodnight ma Annabel said, alright goodnight dear replied Mrs Brown.
