My Annabel

CHAPTER FOUR

Anderson has nurtured in his mind to take Annabel out on a date but does not have the courage yet since he is afraid of rejection.

Lately, he has been feeling Annabel is beginning to love him, so he decided to give it a try.

Anderson pressed the doorbell and Annabel opened the door, although not surprised because she knew it was just her and Anderson in the house.

“Annie, I would like to take you out on a date that night if you don't mind.”

Aah! Uhmm……. it's okay, but I will have to inform Madam Claire about it, She answered skeptically.

Okay…let's make it tomorrow then. Take all the time you want. Anderson respected her decision.

That same day, while everyone was eating quietly in the evening, Annabel broke the silence, clearing her throat. She had been thinking about the best way to bring up the discussion, and she finally plucked up courage.

Meanwhile, she is grown and of the age to take some personal decisions, not minding her petite nature.

The feeling between her and Anderson is mutual and probably indestructible, so she feels like she needed to make an effort too.

“ Madam Claire, please can I go out tomorrow with Anderson?” She asked in a very tiny shaky voice.

Claire and her husband were astounded at hearing of the question. They fix their gaze on each other while trying to assimilate what they heard.

Madam Claire dropped her cutleries, allowing them to clink freely at each other, still not saying a word but transferring her gaze from husband to Annabel and then to Anderson.

Interlacing her fingers and making them to form a bow under her jaw and her elbows were placed directly on the table.

At this point, Annabel was becoming unruly tensed. Anderson is also not saying anything yet, she is beginning to wonder if the reaction she is getting from her madam means a No and what she could possibly do if her madam refuses.

Mr Charlie posed as if he was so engrossed on his meal and his aural faculties became suddenly inactive.

Anderson, on the other hand, was throwing a comradely stare at Charlie, signaling him to please support him, but was so disappointed as his brother is exhibiting no concerned attitude.

“Anderson, you want to take my girl out?” Finally Madam Claire could say something.

Yes I love Annabel and I want to go on a date with her tonight but she insisted on telling you first, Anderson explained.

Charlie and Claire were not against their relationship, but they were taken aback when they had to hear it first from Annabel.

“You can go Annabel,” Claire said, having mixed feelings about this date, but she can't hold Annabel when she is already aware their feelings are mutual.

Annabel heard her and was so happy. Thank you so much ma, I really appreciate it.

While they went to bed that night, Annabel could not contend the joy in her heart, the same as Anderson .

For Annabel, she had not been to any form of date before. As a matter of fact, she knew no man. Her adopted parents didn't give her the opportunity to explore or associate with her peers.

Annabel never felt real love until she entered this family and despite her naivety, she knew she had to reciprocate.

Anderson has been in so many failed relationships in the past. “Something feels different about Annie “ He normally tells himself, he is also very willing to give it his all.

These two seemed to get along so well, Claire said to her husband.

Yeah, maybe they will make a perfect marriage, Charlie said.

Deep down, Charlie Brown has had eyes for Annabel and he is not entirely happy that his junior brother is falling in love with her already.

For some reason, it is not so easy for him to cheat on and betray Claire, a woman he has loved all his life, but his man-nature is not allowing take his eyes off Annabel.

I must lay with Annabel, and I will have to do that very fast, Charlie concluded in his thought.

Charlie is beginning to have evil plots against Annie, although he is not exhibiting it in his behavior so nobody will have to find out until his plans are accomplished.

His Junior had suddenly become a rival.
