Chloe’s POV:
I had no idea why I had asked him to spend the night. I had never been so confident about asking someone before. I looked over to the window as sunlight peaked through the curtains. I had not felt this comfortable in a long time. I looked back at Jaxon, his arm still resting under my head. He looked so peaceful when he slept. I studied his face, and slowly moved my eyes to his chest. He was muscular, to say the least. I reached out, just touching his bare skin made my fingers feel like they were tingling with excitement. I traced the tattoo that was now fully exposed, it was some kind of tribal tattoo, it was intricate and beautiful unlike anything I had seen before and as I traced the beautiful design the tingles of excitement seemed to travel down my arm and throughout my body.
I watched his chest fall and rise as I thought back to the evening we had had. He had not tried anything. We had just stayed up all night chatting, getting to know each other and then, when I started to feel sleepy, he had just held me until I fell asleep. I felt safe around him. I was not sure why, but all my fear and worry had seemed to slip away from me as he had held me. I never cry in front of people. I had no idea how this man had made me feel so comfortable that all my emotions had just poured out.
I felt his body stir and his eyes flickered open, he let a pleasured moan escape his lips and he looked down at me ‘Don’t do that. We’ll be here all day’. I almost forgot that I was still tracing his tattoo. He grinned cheekily at me, I blushed and took my hand away from his chest ‘wow, you’re honestly... beautiful in the morning.’ He looked at me longingly, I felt my face burn as I turned the deepest shade of red.
He pulled me slightly closer to him so that I was lying on my side next to him. My body trembled and my heart began to race as my mind began to think of all sorts of unmentionable things I would let this man do to me and I quickly looked away. I could sense him smiling at the realisation of what he was doing to me.
He quietly laughed to himself, ‘Do you feel better this morning?’ I looked up at Jaxon and nodded. And this time I meant it, the memories of last night came back to me, but lying beside Jaxon and gazing up at him, I felt happy, safe, and calm. He cupped my face and gently stroked my cheek, smiling down at me. I felt as if I could stay right here forever. As I stared back into his eyes, I felt everything melt away as if nothing else in the world mattered.
He slowly inched closer towards me, I thought he was about to kiss me, and my body brimmed with desire for his touch. My body began to tingle, and my stomach twisted with nerves. I could feel my body shiver with anticipation and I closed my eyes.
Just as he was about to move closer, I heard the bedroom door open ‘CHLOE! Oh, s**t!’ I heard Erics voice boom. Out of nowhere I could have sworn I heard a low growl. I turned my head to see where it came from and saw Jaxon glaring darkly towards Eric as he covered me from his view with his arms and pulled me closer to him. I felt my cheeks burn.
‘Sorry. Oh god. I didn’t… You know…Sorry um, yes breakfast, yeah that is why I’m up here, breakfast, kitchen, yes when you are ready … Okay, see you down there.’ He was redder than me, if that was possible, he was staring at the door not even looking in our direction. ‘Thanks’ Jaxon sounded annoyed, and his jaw was clenched tight, and his eyes were narrow and dark and followed Eric as he left the room ‘Okay…bye’ he spluttered awkwardly as he shut the door behind him.
‘You, okay?’ Jonathon said, looking down into my eyes with a concerned look. I smiled back at him. I liked the fact he cared about me.
‘Yeah, I’m fine, but we should probably get up and get ready.’ I smiled as I sat up and stretched. I felt his eyes burning into me. As I looked over my shoulder to look at him, I thought for a moment that he was looking at me with an all-most longing, hot need, as if he could pin me down at any moment. I looked away quickly as I felt my cheeks flush. I moved towards the wardrobe and picked out a pair of leggings and a baggy top that May had left me. She had put some new underwear that didn’t fit her in the wardrobe along with the clothes, she had made sure I knew she hadn’t worn them. I picked them up and I walked into the en-suite.
I started to dress. I tried to fit into the bra that May had left me, but it was too small, so I just put the t-shirt on and decided not to wear one today. I pulled the leggings on and scrapped my hair into a bun on top of my head. I splashed some cold water on my face, the marks on my face were now more visible, my neck had started to bruise, and my face was red, and the underneath of my left eye was slightly yellow in colour. I look at my reflection in the mirror, as I stare into the mirror, I can’t help but feel like there’s something different about me, and it wasn’t the bruises, but I can’t work out what it is.
You found him!
That voice again! I felt as if I was going insane. The voices. The emotions. That raging hormones I was feeling. Maybe it was my time of the month?
I shook off the feelings and left the bathroom. Jaxon was sitting on the end of the bed. He was still topless but had a pair of grey joggers on. He looked up at me and locked eyes with me, I felt my cheeks burn and the hairs on the back of my neck stand up. I quickly looked away and to the floor, my mind racing with inappropriate thoughts, the things I’d let this man do to me.
OH MY GOD WHAT WAS WRONG WITH ME! I had never had these types of thoughts before. I could feel my heart race and could hear my breathing quicken as my thoughts became louder and more vivid. With every thought I felt my body quiver.
I looked up and he was standing in front of me. He smiled cockily at me as he stared down into my eyes. It felt as if he was trying to read my thoughts. I blushed at the idea of him knowing what I was thinking. I wanted to look away, but his gaze held me still as if I was frozen in place.
He leaned closer to my ear and whispered in a deep, rich, husky voice that made me quiver and almost melt ‘Oh baby girl, when I finally get the chance, your thoughts will seem tame.’ He smirked and then left my room.
I stood there unable to move, my heart pounded in my chest and my breathing was shaky, but the smile on my face wouldn’t move.
MINE! I heard that same voice again. This time it was faint, a shaky whisper. At this point, the idea of me going insane was becoming more probable.
I finally began to move my feet. It felt as if I’d been standing still for hours. I started walking towards the kitchen. I could hear the hum of chatter coming from the room. As I entered the room, every single person went quiet, the silence was defending. I felt every pair of eyes focus on me. I looked around, taking in the faces, I saw Jaxon leaning against the kitchen top sipping from a mug, still wearing the same cocky smirk he had plastered on his face when he left my room this morning. I blushed was unsure what to do or say.
Thankfully, just as I was feeling more awkward than ever before, Arabella walked through the door behind me. ‘Morning’ she beamed, smiling warmly at me as she asked ‘Did you sleep okay Chloe? Coffee, tea, anything to drink?’
I smiled awkwardly back at her, still fully aware of the people in the room staring at me ‘Fine, thank you. But I would love a coffee if you wouldn’t mind.’ She smiled and nodded back at me as she started to make coffee.
A tall boy who looked similar to Jaxon but with fiery red hair came over to me ‘Andrew, Jaxon’s more attractive brother, nice to finally meet you, Chloe’ he said with a cheeky grin ‘your fitter than my brother described'. He said with a wink as he looked me up and down. I felt my cheeks burn even more just at the idea of Jaxon talking about me.
‘ANDREW!’ I heard Jaxon almost warning his brother of something. His voice sent shivers down my spine; his eyes locked on his brother. Andrew just smiled at me ‘Just trying to compliment the little lady’. Jaxon’s jaw began to clench, Andrew looked back at his brother and winked ‘relax bro, no harm no foul.’
I couldn’t help but smirk at this comment. Arabella handed me a mug; the smell of coffee made me feel warm and at home. ‘Thank you, for everything Arabella.’
She nodded back at me ‘You’re welcome sweetheart.’
As I sipped the coffee, everyone began to chat amongst themselves. I started to relax, but suddenly I heard someone yelling outside and as I heard the voice my stomach began to drop, my heart began to race with panic and I dropped the mug, letting it smash onto the ground.
