Fate must be kidding me!
Marcus is a vampire. He’s the head of a high ranking clan. His father is the king of all vampires. Marcus has never questioned his father decisions. He always follows through without a doubt. Just like any vampire, Marcus is attractive and hardly ever uses his powers to trap any of his victims. His dark sexy eyes do all the work.
King Richard asked his son to meet him at their private club. Marcus was uneasy since his father asked him to attend alone to discuss an issue. “My son, my heir, I’m so pleased to see you. Always on time and always ready for any mission.” King Richard said. “Father, I am at your mercy.” Marcus responded. “I need you to get rid of this human as soon as possible. Her name is Alice.” His father ordered. While handing over the report. “Father we are not to involve with humans. It’s against your stablished laws” a very confused Marcus said. “As your king and father do as your told, I know what the law says! I was the one who created the law! This is something you must do. Many vampires life depend on this. I am assigning you because I know you can be discreet about this. Any other would use this to their advantage” the King confessed. Marcus nodded and left to accomplish his assignment. Marcus had a unease feeling. He couldn’t figure out what it was. This was just a human. This should be simple. He was embarrassed and felt stupid since this wasn’t his first rodeo. Marcus opened the file his father had given him. As soon as he opened the file he saw a young beautiful woman. He admired the picture for couple of seconds before reading the report. This was a typical boring human. The report had the places this human would regularly visit so he immediately planned out how he was going to proceed.
Alice. Alice is a 18 year old woman. She’s been raised Religious her whole life. She helps out at church and always has good intentions. She helps out her community. Alice is in love with her high school sweetheart James. Or so she thought. James hasn’t asked her to marry him or even brought up the conversation on getting serious. Alice wants to build a family and grow old with James. On the night that James called her to cancel their movie night plans, Alice decided to go buy snacks and watch a movie at home. While Alice was walking through the stores aisle searching for goodies Marcus walked into the store. Marcus felt un easy. “That feeling again. Ugh, I Just want to get this over with!”. Marcus thought. Alice stopped on the candy section when she felt someone in back of her. Alice turned to see who it was, she came face to face with Marcus. Marcus felt a pull towards Alice, he stared at her more than he should have. He memorized all her freckles and little scars. Her scent was driving him crazy. How is this possible? How can I feel this passion over this human. He breathed in her scent. She has a wonderful scent. It’s mixed with lilac and honey but there’s something else. She’s not entirely human?!! What is she? He couldn’t figure it out. Marcus stared at those beautiful honey colored eyes. He has never seen eyes like hers. He has seen blue, green, brown and even hazel but nothing like honey with a slight tint of green. Alice face got heated up. When Marcus heard her voice “Excuse me sir, can I help you”. His eyes darkens. He wanted to take her right there and then. This fatal attraction was consuming him. He had to restrain himself. He has never felt this way in his 700 years. He has never encounter this. He was internally battling with all his emotions. He had to leave. Get away from her he snarl. Alice in the other hand was nervous and immediately felt attraction towards this handsome stranger. Those dark dangerous eyes she thought. She had to remind herself that she had a boyfriend! Alice was worried. She has never felt attraction towards anyone else other than James. She has never thought of someone else or admire someone else’s physical. She couldn’t look away from those dark eyes. This stranger has a perfect face and sharp jaws. His full lips were to die for. She felt hypnotized by him. She closed her eyes and took a deep breathe in. When she opened her eyes the stranger wasn’t there anymore.
When Marcus saw this human break eye contact with him, he used this opportunity to escape. In matters of a second he was out of the store. There was so many questions. How was she able to break eye contact? No human has been able to? Humans are our prey and they are weak. How did she do this? He has to ask his father. No, he knew he couldn’t. Marcus knew his father would be disappointed. He had to find a way to know all the answers to his questions and asking his father wasn’t a choice. Marcus was inside his car when he saw her walk out of the store. He could see her cheeks still heated up. It brought him a slight satisfaction to know it was because of him. She was carrying a small bag. Her phone rang and with his super hearing he overheard every word. He felt jealous over this James. How nice and soft she sounded speaking to this James. Marcus followed her home. Now he could see her house was marked. A mark on someone’s house meant they were chosen or someone from that house was chosen. Can she be a fairy? Impossible, she is religious. Fairies are nothing religious. Is she aware? Is her family aware? His phone rang. “Is the task completed” his father asked. “No father, im still wondering how to proceed without leaving evidence behind. I wouldn’t want the supernatural world to have evidence against us. We can’t have the supernatural beings look into us.” Marcus responded. Marcus was surprised how easily he was able to come up with an excuse. His father proud of his son “ that’s why your my favorite, you think of every single detail”. Marcus felt guilty. Marcus thought life was playing him a joke. How could he be interested in her!
