That stupid b***h

Kiera grabbed the girls wrist and pulled her towards herself. They walked off up the stairs, whispering as they went. I wondered closer to the bottom of the staircase to try and eavesdrop on what they were saying.

“That stupid b***h, she is so pathetic!” Keira snapped.

As they went further upstairs their conversation was muffled by other people. I couldn’t make out their words anymore but I guessed Kiera was angry. I wonder if it had anything to do with my brother.

“I’ll try calling her” suggested Carlos, breaking my train of thought.

“Yeah do that” I said.

He began to ring the number. I stood with my arms crossed, staring at him. I could tell he felt intimidated. I never liked him. His hand was trembling as he held the phone. I smiled to myself but then quickly returned to my hard face.

I heard a male voice pick up the phone. Who the f**k was that?

“Oh okay” said Carlos sheepishly.

Then the phone line disconnected.

“Who the f**k was that?” I shouted.

“ Alpha that was your brother, Leo” he explained.

“He said Cleo would speak to me tomorrow. Then, he put the phone down” he said looking at me confused.

What on earth was my brother doing with Cleo and where was he taking her? I mind linked Leo to explain.

I left without a word to Carlos.

Cleo’s POV:

We jumped in the back seats of the car. I shuffled to the far side so there was the small seat separating us but Leo shuffled to sit right next to me. He was so close to me the side of my leg was pressed against his. The car began to drive. I felt speechless.

“To the Betas house” Leo said to the driver.

He turned to me and give me a cheeky smile.

“Cleo?” He whispered in my ear. My name in his mouth sent tingles down my neck.

“Are you happy your fated to me?” He asked.

I stared into his eyes. I didn’t know what to say. We used to be best friends and until recently he wasn’t even my friend.

“I’m just confused” I said.

I seen his eyes drop at my response.

“I’ve been wanting to apologise for how distant I’ve been lately ” said Leo.

“I’ve never wanted to stay away from you, trust me” he explained.

“it’s kind of hard to trust you now after everything” i sighed.

He looked at me with puppy dog eyes.

Leo’s POV:

Why was I such an i***t? I should have never let Keira affect my relationship with Cleo. I knew Keira was probably just jealous. Why wouldn’t she be? Cleo was so naturally beautiful and kind hearted. Keira was beautiful but not on Cleo’s level.

I knew Keira was suspicious of my feelings towards Cleo. Once I written a poem. It described how I fell in love with my best friend. I planned to give it to Cleo one day, when I built up the confidence but I never did. One night, when Keira slept over, she went snooping. She found the poem in my bed side drawer and read it whilst I was asleep. I knew she had read it because I concealed in it a red envelope. The next day I realised the envelope has been torn enough to squeeze out the letter. Keira never mentioned it to me but then started to act strange around Cleo. I didn’t want to make my feeling obvious so I went along with it and now it’s backfired.

We arrived at the Betas home. I opened the door for Cleo and helped her out the car. We walked up to the door,

Beta Daniel answered the door.

“Oh hey Alpha Leo” he smiled although he looked confused.

I wasn’t Alpha for another six months but people called me it out of respect.

“Home already?” He asked Cleo looking at her with concern.

Her eyes were red and puffy. He could probably tell she had been crying.

“Are you okay?” He asked concerned.

“Yeah I’m fine” she smiled at him.

“Il take Cleo up her room and make sure she’s okay” I suggested.

“Are yous back friends now” Beta Daniel laughed.

“Besties” I smiled.

I took Cleo up the stairs into her bedroom. Beta Daniel looked suspicious; he was very protective of Cleo.

Cleo’s POV:

We walked up to my room; I closed the door behind us.

“Explain” I demanded.

Usually, nobody would dare speak to an Alpha like that but I needed answers.

Leo sat on my bed and stared up at me with his beautiful blue eyes.

“All I can do is apologise again” he said.

“I only distanced myself from you because I’ve always liked you. I’ve always liked you a lot more than friend and I was worried you wouldn’t want me” he explained.

“If you liked me so much why would you let Keira push me around? I demanded to know.

Leo looked painfully guilty.

“I’m so sorry baby. I’ll spend every day from now on making it up to you” he whimpered.

Did he just call me baby? I felt a little weak.

“Please accept me as your mate” he pleaded.

This couldn’t be real. The Alpha pleading with me. I looked into his eyes and felt my body drawn towards him. He pulled my body in-between his legs as he sat on the bed. I could feel myself getting wet and hoped he didn’t notice. His hands slipped down my waist and pulled me in tight. They then slipped past my thighs and under my dress holding my cheeks with a tight grip. Impulsively, I leant in and kissed him. I put my hands around his neck and let my body push against his.

Suddenly, my phone began to ring.

“Ignore it” Leo panted.

I looked and it was Carlos. I snapped back into reality.

“What if he’s worried about me?” I asked.

“Pass the phone” Leo demanded.

I did as he asked.

“Hi, Cleo’s okay and she will speak to you tomorrow. Bye” he said before Carlos’s could even respond.

He ended the call and dropped the phone on the bed.
