The Twin Brothers

Cleo’s POV: I awoke to the sound of the door slam downstairs. I heard a loud, echoing voice which I recognised as Alpha Alexis. Close behind I could hear his two sons, the twins, Theo and Leo. Who do they think they are barging in at midnight? They must be coming to speak to Danny. He’s my adoptive father and the Beta to the pack. “So here’s the plan...” I heard Theo say. He is so bossy and assertive; he always gets his own way and acts like he runs the pack already. I dread to think how he will act when he gets the official Alpha title, in six months time, when he turns twenty-one. Everyone in the pack respects him but are terrified to get on the wrong side of him and I don’t blame them! He has a hot head and crazy temper if someone steps out of line. Girls in the pack seem to appeal to the bad boy vibe, constantly competing for his attention. Urgh it’s pathetic if you ask me. I hate to admit it ,because he’s such a brat, but he is a pretty boy. He has short, brown hair, just long enough to have a small wave to it. He has dark, olive skin and a defined jaw and cheek bones. He reminds me of a husky with piercing blue eyes. Unfortunately, his personality doesn’t match his looks. He is so rude, entitled and mean. I hate him! I always remember him calling me ugly growing up. Even worse, he would call me it in front of his different girlfriends to embarrass me and make me feel worthless. Despite his hot temper, he’d never raised his voice to me. It’s probably because he wouldn’t waste his precious breath on the likes of me who mean nothing to him. Honestly, i much prefer his twin brother Leo. He’s identical to Theo. Fortunately, he’s less scary than his brother; he’s actually a little softie deep down although he try’s and acts cool in front of other pack members. Growing up we were inseparable. He always said I was the “little sister he never had”. I don’t blame him for wanting another sibling from Theo. Although, times haves changed and so has Leo. He barely speaks two words to me anymore. He’s always with his girlfriend, Kiera. I don’t know what he sees in her. She’s the biggest bully in school. She’s not even that pretty but who am I to judge. Once she tripped me up in the corridor at school; she was the same age as me and in a lot of my classes. Leo and Theo were stood next to her at their lockers. As I fell ,my skirt risen to show my huge granny pants. They were the only ones that weren’t in the washing that day! Floods of pupils took photos and mocked me for weeks. The twins found it hilarious. Il never forgive Leo for that. Maybe it’s a good thing we’re not friends anymore. I realised I left my diary on the kitchen table; I had to get it before any of them would catch a glance and make fun of me. Quietly, I sneaked down the stairs but as I did a loud squeak rippled through the room from the floorboards. “Sorry!” I apologised. Theo and Leo’s eyes darted towards me. Danny rolled his eyes. “I just forgot my diary” I explained as I scurried towards the table. Whatever they’re talking about must be confidential. I could tell by the daggers they were giving me it wasn’t meant for my ears so I tried to be quick. I squeezed past Theo to grab my diary, accidentally brushing my leg against his. He turned to me with a dangerous glare. I barely touched him, I don’t know what his problem is! I quickly ran back upstairs and listened to their discussion from the landing. Theo’s POV: Unannounced we entered Beta Daniel’s home. Some neighbouring packs had been attacked tonight and we needed to ensure our army was ready in case of intruders. Then I seen her, Cleo sneaking down the stairs. I know she’s only come to eaves drop; she’s always sticking her nose in Alpha business that doesn’t concern her. If that were any of my guards they wouldn’t live to tell the tale, literally. That girl gets away with murder. She squeezed past me to grab her diary. I would love to know what she’s been writing in there. As she did, she brushed past the back of my leg. My full body tingled at her touch causing shivers up my spine. I could feel all the hairs on my body stand on end. All of a sudden I couldn’t focus on what we were talking about. “Don’t you agree Theo?” I heard Leo say. I had no idea what he was talking about, my mind went blank. “What was that again?” I said as they all looked at me confused. Usually I was very focused when it came to discussing the defence and offense of our pack. I took it a lot more seriously than my brother. But all it took was a slight touch from Cleo and I felt aroused. For a split second i was thinking of what it would be like to have her naked on top of me. It annoyed me that she had that effect on me. I looked back at her in frustration. She annoys me so much! She always has ever since Beta Daniel adopted her. He found her abandoned ,by her former pack, after a battle over territory. Her omega parents died during the battle and her pack thought so little of her that they never attempted to find her. Her situation was very unfortunate but she’s managed to get under my skin from our very first conversation. Leo’s POV: We were in the middle of our discussion when Cleo come into the room. I looked straight at her. I felt so guilty; we used to be besties and I’ve been avoiding her. Kiera’s constantly giving me ear ache, accusing me of “having a thing” for Cleo. So now I just keep my distance to avoid the drama. I see her push past Theo, briefly touching his leg. I suddenly feel a pang of jealousy. I should have stood at that side of the table! I look at my brother who’s glaring at Cleo like he wants to kill her. His full face flushed bright red. I quickly ask him a question, snapping him back into the conversation. I’ve always felt protective of Cleo growing up. Theo was always really brutal to her, calling her names and pushing her around. He always said she doesn’t belong here. Personally, I like her and I wouldn’t never tell her but I think she’s beautiful. I’m obsessed with her naturally white blonde hair that falls down her back. That and her big hazel eyes. I excused myself to the toilet. I wasn’t actually going to the toilet I just wanted a chance to speak to Cleo.
