Everything changes at midnight

Cleo’s POV:

Lori pulled me over to the middle of the dance floor. She held my hands and started to dance with me. I couldn’t help but laugh in embarrassment but I followed her lead. She was a little bit tipsy from the vodka she’d snuck in her bag. She was a lot more wild than me. As she twirled, I let go of her hand and let her disappear into the crowd to mingle with other pack members. Just as I was about to walk outside, I felt a hand entwine with my own and then a pull causing me to twirl into some warm arms. I looked up it was Leo holding me. I gasped.

Leo’s POV:

I know I will probably get an ear full from Kiera but I found myself walking over to Cleo for a dance. She was heading outside but I clasped her hand in mine and tugged her close to me. She looked shocked when she seen my face. It felt good to have her in my arms.

“Sorry to shock you” I chuckled.

She just looked at me with her beautiful blue eyes. I smiled at the speck of green in her right eye. I love that about her eyes, it makes her unique.

“Cleo, I just want to say I’m sorry. I’ve not been a good friend lately and if I’m honest it’s been s**t. Can we just rewind and go back to how we used to be?” I apologised hopefully.

“Actually things are better the way they are now, but I appreciate the apology” she said with a sassy attitude.

I should have known it wouldn’t be easy. She can be stubborn at times.

“Well I can make it up to you!” I suggested.

“Unless you’re offering to be my personal servant from now on I don’t think there’s anything that could possibly make it up to me” she laughed sarcastically.

I won’t back down this easy.

“Consider it done” I whispered in her ear.

I caught a glimpse of a smile in the corner of her mouth but she didn’t say anything.

“Il be at your house crack of dawn. Have my list of chores ready for me your highness”I chuckled.

“And Happy birthday for in one hour” I laughed .

I wanted to be the first person to say it.

Cleo’s POV:

When I seen it was Leo who was holding me I couldn’t help but feel giddy. His warm embrace around me set off electrical impulses through my whole body. He then apologised for being a bad friend. The word friend reminded me how stupid I am for having these silly feelings for him. Thats how he sees me, a friend. He seemed to be grovelling though. To my surprise he took me up on being my personal servant for a week. He said he would be at my house tomorrow. I laughed in my head at the thought of the future Alpha being my servant and then smiled at the thought of seeing him again.

I needed to go home before midnight since it was my first shift tonight. Danny gestured towards me as a signal for us to leave. I opened the door to Danny’s car when I heard someone shouting my name.

Theo’s POV:

“CLEO!” I shouted out of breath.

I seen her leaving and quickly rushed to speak to her. I remembered, it would be her first shift tonight.

She looked at me confused. We didn’t exactly speak much.

“My mom’s just reminded me it’s your shift tonight” I lied but I wouldn’t let her know I was thinking about her.

“Yeah” she said.

“Do you have anyone to go with you?” I asked.

“Danny’s talked me through it, he’s there if I need anything” she reassured,

“Oh well that’s great then” I replied

Ide hoped she might have wanted some support and I would have “ begrudgingly” offered to help so I could be there. I didn’t like the thought of her in pain. Even if she was a pain.

She got in the car and I watched them as they drove away from the pack house.

Cleo’s POV:

It was Theo shouting me. His mom had asked him to make sure I was okay. I was surprised Theo bothered, he only ever speaks to me if he has something sarcastic to say.

We headed back home and I quickly ran out into the forest. Beta Daniel followed behind me.

“It’s okay Danny, I think il be okay” I smiled at him.

Danny had given me plenty of advice about turning and how to manage the pain. I felt confident to do it on my own.

“Are you sure? I can come with and cover my eyes?” He offered.

“I promise il be okay. Il meet you back at the house when I’m done” I said.

The night was warm but had a cool breeze to it. I took my clothes off and wrapped myself in a blanket. I sat on a rock and waited until it turned midnight. Suddenly, I felt a piercing pain in my back, my bones were snapping. Clenching my firsts I breathed through the pain, just like Danny taught me. It took around forty minutes until I was fully transformed. My wolf was ice white like my hair. I pounced around the forest jumping and rolling around. The feeling was euphoric.

After twenty minutes or so, I could see Danny’s wolf running towards me. It was a light brown wolf with brown eyes. It was huge compared to me.. He nudged me playfully and I rolled on the floor. He couldn’t help but check on me.

We returned to the house shortly after. There was a knock at the door.
