PROLOGUE
Prologue Can a kingdom be ruled by two kings? Falcon High School is one of the best schools in the country. Kids who go there are either born with a silver spoon in their mouth or they have remarkable talents that attract the best scholarships offered by the big guns in the business world. The school takes pride in producing the best students that are both academically accomplished and also skilled in various trades. It is ranked 3rd among the elite schools. It caters for the rich kids of the most affluent families. Students are encouraged to pursue what they are passionate about. Art, sports, whatever the students love and enjoy doing, the school nurtures and develops the kids talents. ... I forced myself to run faster as I made a beeline for the secluded part of the sports field. This part is under construction. The school was extending the fields for football so that junior students could have more time for practice and not disturb the seniors. Makes sense why they decided to hold their fight in this part of the school. I jumped over a pile of rocks narrowly missing a sharp, pointy stump of a tree. My heart hammered loudly against my chest. 'I can't believe this is happening.' They know that the penalty of such an offence is expulsion. Fighting on school premises is a ticket out the majestic gates of Falcon High. Forever! They record it against your name. And make sure to inform each and everyone that calls the school for your recommendation that you were a hooligan in school. I am not being dramatic. Its true. The Admin of Falcon High is ruthless. Honestly. When I turned around the bend of high line of trees, I could make out the voices of the bunch of idiots that decided to throw away their future to the wind. Whats with guys and their mountain high egos? I mean why can't people sit down and talk properly. Fists don't solve problems, they worsen the situation as well as break noses. "Its not too late to back down" Thats Liam's voice. Immediately I heard a snort. "Is that your big idea of finding a way out? By trying to convince me to back out. Tsk...I told you that your little time playing with Zuri is over. "I do want to break your bones. Seems like I need to show you who is king." Jon's calm and deep voice came through. I finally reached the clearing that the crazy lot were standing in. Liam had his back towards me. Flanking him were Brad, Tom and Leo. When I stopped to catch my breath. The group looked towards me. I placed my hands on my knees as I panted heavily trying to draw in as much oxygen as possible. "Stop" I said. "Stop...stop... this no...nonsense" I said in between heavy breaths. It was as if they did not hear me. Liam removed his letter jacket and handed it to Brad. Jon soon got into position as he pulled the sleeves of his red sweatshirt to his elbows. My heart was beating out of my chest as I realised they were really going to beat each other up. If the situation wasn't so dire I would laugh and joke about them waiting for me to grab pop corn. Thats when I noticed Kay moving back a few steps. She and Mark were the only ones on Jon's side. I calculated the odds of Jon winning. If he won then I would not put it past Liam finding a way to turn the fight into a group brawl. "I am going to enjoy this" Liam's tone was dangerous. He meant it. He sounded like it was something he had always wanted to do. "Give me everything you got pretty boy" Jon's tone was full of mockery. 'This is ridiculous' I thought. The first punch that flew in the air was in slo mo. I couldn't believe they were actually do this. My poor heart could not take it any more. It jumped straight to my throat. My hands trembled as I watched Liam connect his firm fist to Jon's left cheek causing his head to sweep to the side. It was a huge blow. One full of strength but he did not fall. I guess he had braced himself. Soon afterwards everything a blur. Fist after fist were raining like torrents. "Stop them!" I shouted. "Brad... you guys. They will kill each other!" 'This is awful ' I could not watch. It was bloody, It was messy, It was because of me.
