The most arrogant rich heir in Chicago confessed to me in public, but I threw the flowers he gave me into the fountain and started making up lies on the spot.

"Sorry, but your best buddy already told me—you're only chasing me because you bet a hundred-million-dollar estate with someone that you could sleep with me within a month.

"Instead of getting mad that a girl from the slums stole your number-one spot at Evermont University, why don't you actually study harder for the next exam?"

Then, I looked at the group of heirs standing around us.

"Sure, all of you have said so many nasty things about him behind his back just to make me happy, but...

"I don't like men who betray their brothers. Sorry."

The moment those words left my mouth, everyone started looking at each other in shock and suspicion.

Chapter 1
The most arrogant rich heir in Chicago confessed to me in public, but I threw the flowers he gave me into the fountain and started making up lies on the spot. "Sorry, but your best buddy already told me—you're only chasing me because you bet a hundred-million-dollar estate with someone that you could sleep with me within a month. "Instead of getting mad that a girl from the slums stole your number-one spot at Evermont University, why don't you actually study harder for the next exam?" Then, I looked at the group of heirs standing around us. "Sure, all of you have said so many nasty things about him behind his back just to make me happy, but... "I don't like men who betray their brothers. Sorry." The moment those words left my mouth, everyone started looking at each other in shock and suspicion. The second the truth came out, Eric Brown's expression went completely blank.   He spun around and glared at his friends, his voice full of rage. "I thought we were close friends, and this is how you repay me? By screwing me over behind my back?"   The guys who were being accused instantly panicked and rushed to clear their names.   "After all the times I called her a gold digger and a nobody, do you honestly think I'd fall for her?"   "Why are you staring at me? Do I look like I have such terrible taste?"   Eric looked back at me. "Tell me. Who was secretly setting me up?"   I gave his shoulder a sympathetic pat. "It's not just one of your so-called brothers who was messing with you. If I told you everything, you'd probably lose it. So maybe it's better if you don't know."   The students gathered around started whispering excitedly, and some had already pulled out their phones, ready to capture the drama.   I looked at Eric, whose face had gone pale with anger, and delivered my final blow. "Just pretend you never found out and keep being best friends with them. You wouldn't want a girl ruining your friendship, would you?"   After that, I took advantage of the chaos and quietly slipped away. Honestly, they noticed me far later than I noticed them. After all, these ridiculously rich kids were practically walking billboards for their wealth.   I couldn't help checking their i********: accounts from time to time, only to get jealous every time I saw their flashy posts and luxury lifestyles. Just when my jealousy had completely taken over, Eric suddenly showed up and confessed his feelings for me.   He stepped out of the matte black Maybach and confessed that he had fallen for me at first sight. In his eyes, I was his dream girl, the real-life Cinderella. Though I was poor, I was beautiful, and "different" from all the women he was used to.   The hatred I had for rich people kept me from losing my head. After digging through the clues hidden in their i********: posts, I quickly realized something wasn't right.   It turned out my final exam score had beaten his, stealing his place as the top student in our grade. Unable to handle the loss, he made a bet with his friends that he could get me into bed within a month, then break my heart and dump me.   Those damn rich kids. Messing with my feelings was already bad enough, but they weren't even willing to spend any money! Fine. Then don't blame me for making those so-called brothers turn on each other right in front of everyone.
