CHAPTER 3

“You killed my dad, you fool!!!” I screamed then hit him hard on his balls. He fell to the ground and screamed in pains then I climbed on him and hit him continously till his security came and threw me out. “So I was about to get married to my Dad's Murderer.” This was the question I asked myself all week. I needed to act fast. I wanted Walker to feel everybit of pain I felt when I lost my dad. I wanted him to hate his life and wish he was dead. That was all I thought and planned in my head. I told my mum about it and it broke her to pieces, I promised her I will make sure we get justice. I knew I had to meet Nelson, he had all the evidence I needed to get justice for my Dad and crumble Walker's life. It took me days to trace Nelson, I had to ask questions and enquire, finally I got his address from his associate. I drove to his gate and honked, surprisingly the gate opened automatically and I drove in, what I saw blew my mind. The driveway was lined with towering trees and perfectly trimmed lawns. Then before me was a monstrous mansion with a modern and perfectly designed metal roof. I parked my car, came down and went towards the house. As I approached the front door to ring the bell, I heard a voice from the side of the house. “Jackie!!. Welcome.” I turned and it was Nelson sitting by the pool with a cigar in his hand and a glass of champagne on the table next to him. Cold shivers coarsed through my spine as I walked to meet him. He showed me where to sit which I did. He whistled to his worker to get a glass for me to join him but I kindly declined. “Seems you have finally come to your senses and left that dog”. Nelson said then took a long drag of cigarette. “Well, its not just about what you said, I found out that the person he killed was my Dad”. I replied. “Ah ah ah ah, that's sad, my condolences my darling, I had no idea”. He replied with a little show of concern. “I need your help?”. I replied cautiously. “Ahan, now to the real reason you are here, what do you need?”. He shot back. I took a deep breath then responded. “ I want to send Walker to jail, I want to ruin his life and destroy him entirely, I want him dead, but not quickly, I want him to live a life that comprises of everything that he fears, I want his life to crumble right in front of him.” “Look around you my darling, does your resemble a centre for justice?”. He responded. Then he got up and added— “I am a man of my words, I had a deal with Walker and he played his part of the deal by making you agree to the one night stand. And I did that for me to tamper with the one thing he holds dearly and as far as I am concerned, I am satisfied and In as much as I hate him with my guts, I am not going back on my words.” He motioned to leave— “So you are going to let someone that put you in jail for several years go Scot free like that, doesn't that make you a weak a*s man!!???”. I scolded. He walked to me angrily like he wanted to break my face, then he angrily pushed the bottle and glass away. They shattered so loud that my heart started racing. He pointed right at my face and shouted— “Ah ah ah Don't ever f*****g tell me how to deal with matters that concern me!!! Do you understand me??!!!!” He turned away to leave then I went on my knees and pleaded— “I just need to lay hand of the evidence, I promise I will do anything you want, anything at all, I just want justice for my Dad”. He walked away and I broke down in tears. The next day was Saturday, I stayed up all night crying and was thinking of a way to let my mom know that I did my best but it was not enough. I knew that because of the connections Walker had, I needed excess evidence to get the justice I wanted. Suddenly I heard a knock on my door so I went to get it, surprisingly it was Nelson. He walked in without uttering a word and slammed a file on my table— “That's what it would take for me to back you in getting justice for your dad and you have 48 hours to reach out to me”. Then he stormed out. With a mix of excitement and curiosity I opened the file and went through the document and it was for a— CONTRACT MARRIAGE BETWEEN ME AND NELSON!! I got furious at first, a relationship is the last thing I needed. I took my time to go through every line of the documents, then I signed it. The next week I moved in with him and he got two cars for me and gave me an arm of his fashion empire to work in. During the first few weeks, Nelson was not as bad as I thought he would be, the only issue was that he was a terrible drunk. If he wasn't sleeping he was drinking. He would drink before work, drink before going to play golf, drink before going to bed, and even drink immediately after waking up. He had set the legal case in motion and he brought out every evidence pointing towards Walker's d**g case. In few days Walker was charged with murder and sentenced to Jail and his business was shut down with his assets seized. I was finally happy, even though I knew I was never going to see my dad again, I knew that he would be smiling at me from where he was. The contract marriage was for three years. I wondered why he made a contract marriage especially when he had not touched me so far. “Since this is the man I was going to spend the next three years with, the least I can do is to enjoy myself”. I thought to myself. I waited for him to get in the shower then I wore my most enticing lingerie. I designed the bed with roses and dimmed the lights. I poured red wine in a glass and held it and sat at the edge of the bed. As he came out of the bathroom I put on an inviting gaze. He walked straight to his drawer and put on his night wear— “Hello!” I said as he motioned to leave. “What's the matter?” He asked angrily. “Are we not celebrating our victory”. I replied. “Ah ah ah, correct yourself, YOUR VICTORY! not our, your!!”. He responded with a fierce look. I stood up and approached him and held his hands. “I know you had a rough day my darling, but I am here to cheer you up”. I moved my face close to kiss him and banggggg!! He slapped the s**t out of me and stormed out. The next day I demanded answers for the slap and he hit me and gave me the beating of my life. “Stop hitting me”. I kept on screaming but no one came to my rescue. The bruises were so bad that I got admitted to the hospital for a while. I stayed there for a week with my mum. During this period, Nelson never called me or my mum. Two days after being discharged from the hospital I had persistent nausea and I went for a check up and It came out that I was—
