As someone who had considered becoming an architect, Thanos was fascinated by the Parthenon as it had been in ancient times. He had seen it in its current ruined condition, but nothing could quite compare with viewing it in its full glory—even if he was only dreaming it.
Unfortunately for the speed of the quest, Thanos’s obvious enthusiasm led Athena to give them a tour of the structure, which was absolutely the last thing any of them except Thanos wanted. Even Hermes looked impatient at the delay, though he seemed unwilling to say anything.
