CHAPTER 10 SOPHIE "Call me 'ma'am' like that one more time...and I will wipe that ridiculous look off of your face with a hand that's insured for half a million. Am I clear?" The sound of a voice registers somewhere nearby. But I'm still not sure if I'm dreaming or awake. It's my limbs—weak and worn-out—that send the messages to my brain that I am, in fact, conscious right now. My body feels so far beyond exhausted that it seems like I've been sleeping for days.
