Maya's shift passed like most others, nothing overly terrible happened, so she and Oliver—the person who normally partnered with Davey—managed to spend a few hours at the station between calls, restocking their supplies, cleaning their vehicle, and catching up on reports. There was even time to start a movie and sit down to a hot takeaway. Maya politely declined, sticking to a few bites of dry toast while her tender stomach complained at even the thought of food after last night's drinking. Normally they averaged around twenty call-outs during the night shift, which meant the two night-shift ambulances were always on the move.
