THE BLACK PACK Ember POV I am Ember, alpha of the Black Pack, a ruthless and cunning leader driven by ambition and a thirst for power. My eyes burn with an inner fire, fueled by resentment and a deep-seated hatred for those who have wronged me. My pack is a reflection of my own darkness, a group of fierce and loyal warriors who will stop at nothing to achieve our goals. As an alpha, I am feared and respected by my pack, but my true desire is to be feared and respected by all. I am constantly seeking ways to increase my power and influence, to expand my territory and assert my dominance over other packs. My greatest rival is Skye, alpha of the Red Blood Pack, a man who embodies everything I aspire to be: strong, confident, and revered by his pack. But my admiration for him is twisted into hatred, a burning resentment that fuels my every move. I seethed with resentment as I thought about Skye, He had everything I desired: power, respect, and a pack that adored him. His confidence and strength were traits I envied, and his ability to inspire loyalty in his pack members was something I could only dream of. But what fueled my hatred the most was that Skye didn't even realize his own worth. He took his position and his pack for granted, never once appreciating the admiration and fear that came with being an alpha. Meanwhile, I was forced to fight tooth and nail for every scrap of respect, every morsel of power. My beta, Lyra, approached me cautiously, sensing the dark mood that had settled over me. "Alpha Ember, we've received reports that Skye is searching for his Luna in the human world," she said, her voice measured. I turned to her, my eyes narrowing. "And what business does he have there?" I growled, my anger simmering just below the surface. Lyra hesitated before speaking. "It seems the Moon Goddess has informed him that his mate is in the human world, Alpha." A plan began to form in my mind, one that would allow me to exploit Skye's weakness and finally take what was mine. A sly smile spread across my face as I thought about the possibilities. THE HUMAN WORLD Elsa pov I beamed with excitement as I nodded at Gold's invitation. Grabbing lunch together sounded like the perfect way to get to know her better and explore the campus. As the orientation continued, I found myself glancing over at Gold, who was taking notes and nodding along with the speakers. She seemed so confident and put-together, and I couldn't help but feel a little more at ease with her by my side. When the orientation finally wrapped up, Gold and I gathered our things and headed out of the auditorium. "So, what's your favorite spot on campus?" she asked, her eyes sparkling with enthusiasm. "I have to admit, I've never been here before," I replied, feeling a little embarrassed. "But I'm excited to explore." Gold grinned. "Well, I'm happy to be your tour guide. Let's grab some lunch at the student union. They have amazing food, and I can introduce you to some other students." I followed her lead, and we walked across campus, chatting about everything from our favorite books to our childhood memories. As we ate, Gold introduced me to a group of students, and I was surprised by how easily I fit in. Maybe this college thing wouldn't be so bad after all. Maybe I'd even find my tribe. Gold and I finished our lunch, and she suggested we check out the campus library. "It's one of my favorite spots," she said. "And it's a great place to study." I nodded, intrigued. "I'd love to see it." As we walked to the library, we passed by a group of students who seemed to be part of a clique. One girl in particular caught my eye, with her designer clothes and perfectly styled hair. She looked like she belonged on the cover of a fashion magazine. "Hey, Gold," she said, her voice dripping with entitlement. "Who's your new friend?" Gold smiled politely. "Roselle, this is Elsa. She's a freshman." Roselle's gaze swept over me, her expression dismissive. "Oh, great. Another scholarship kid, I presume?" I felt a surge of annoyance at her tone, but Gold intervened before I could respond. "Roselle, don't be rude. Elsa's great, and I'm sure she'll fit right in here." Roselle raised an eyebrow. "Fit in? With us? I doubt it." I stood my ground, refusing to let her intimidate me. "I think I'll manage just fine, thanks." Roselle snorted, rolling her eyes. "We'll see about that." Gold shot her a warning look. "Roselle, let's not be mean. Elsa's just trying to make friends." Roselle's expression softened slightly, but her tone remained condescending. "Fine. Welcome to Skyline, Elsa. I hope you can keep up." I smiled sweetly, determined not to let her get under my skin. "Thanks for the warm welcome, Roselle. I'm sure I'll do just fine." Roselle Pov As the only daughter of Reginald Storm, the richest man in the USA, I was used to getting what I wanted and when I wanted it. My father's wealth and influence had afforded me a life of luxury and privilege, and I reveled in the perks that came with being a Storm. I thought about my father's expectations, about the pressure to excel and to make a name for myself in the business world. He was grooming me to take over the Storm empire one day, and I was determined to prove myself worthy. But for now, I was content to enjoy the privileges of being a Storm. I had the best clothes, the best cars, and the best friends. And I knew that my status as a Storm would open doors for me, no matter where I went. As I walked across campus, I felt a sense of pride and ownership. I was Roselle Storm, after all. And everyone knew it. I caught up with Melody and Melissa, and we started discussing our plans for the weekend. "I'm thinking of hosting a party at my father's penthouse," I said, a sly smile spreading across my face. "It'll be the party of the year, and everyone will be talking about it for weeks." Melody's eyes widened. "That sounds amazing, Roselle. I'll start spreading the word." Melissa nodded. "I'll help with the planning. We can make it a night to remember." I grinned, feeling a sense of excitement building. This was going to be epic. And with my father's resources behind me, nothing was impossible. As we were discussing the party, Elsa and Gold walked by, oblivious to our conversation. I raised an eyebrow, watching them with interest. Gold was a sweet girl, but Elsa... she was a mystery. I wasn't sure what to make of her yet. "Hey, look at that," Melody said, nodding towards Elsa. "The new girl is already making friends with Gold." Melissa snorted. "Yeah, and she's probably going to latch onto z for social climbing purposes." I smiled, intrigued by the idea. "Maybe. But I think Elsa might be more interesting than that." Melody raised an eyebrow. "You think so?" I nodded. "Yeah. There's something about her that doesn't quite fit. And I love figuring out puzzles." Melissa grinned mischievously. "You mean you love manipulating people, Roselle." I laughed, feeling a thrill of excitement. "Well, maybe a little bit. But I just want to see how Elsa reacts to different situations. She's got a certain... spark." Melody and Melissa exchanged a knowing look, and I could tell they were both thinking the same thing: Roselle's got a new project. And I wasn't going to let Elsa get away without getting to know her better.
