Kira woke up the next morning with her mind was full of questions. They continued to plague her as she showered and got dressed. Was Elena’s death connected to the theft of the brooch? Who had killed her? Why had Raymond’s father insisted on keeping the brooch a secret? She padded through the living room to the kitchen to scrounge up some breakfast. Rob was still lost in the zone, glued to his laptop while he performed his research. She couldn’t bear the idea of sitting on her hands while waiting for him to come up with something. She decided another visit to the Stirling mansion was in order. Maybe she a more thorough search of the house and grounds would turn up something useful.
